Show ,Big Parade, Auto Racing Part of 4th Celebration Two outstanding attractions in connection with -.the big Springville Homecoming celebration July 1 f to 4 will be the July 4th parade and the Midget Auto . gracing. The parade is being worked out and is under the direction of the American Legion, with Dave Thomas Tho-mas chairman. Every business house, civic organization and church is being asked to put in an outstanding float, keeping in mind the parade theme: - "Springville Centennial-100 years of Progress." The parade will be divided into 4 sections; Pioneer, Commercial, Industrial-Agricultural and Comic. Prizes will be awarded to winners in each section. Springville's Centennial Cen-tennial queen and her attendants will lead the parade on a beautiful beauti-ful float. There will be in attendance. atten-dance. Miss Utah (Joan Hinand) together with other royalty and celebrants. Several outstanding bands will march as will the Boy Scouts. .The parade will be held at 5 p.m. Anyone not contacted by the parade committee to sponsor a float should feel free to enter one and information can be obtained by calling Mr. Thomas or contacting contact-ing the American Legion. Auto Racing . . . Everything is pointing to a real celebration at Spring Acres with the Midget Auto racing. Through the cooperation of the City, the Centennial Committee and the Jay-cees Jay-cees as sponsors, the auto racing track will be made. The Electric light department will take care of the lighting for the event. The midget racing is all lined up and promises to be an outstanding entertainment for July 3 and 4. The city recorder points out that those desirous of putting up concession con-cession stands at the park must first obtain a license from the city recorder. Proceeds from such licenses li-censes will go to the Centennial committee general fund. |
