Show MIA Activities j i A special invitation to "Meet j Me at Mutual" next Monday and Tuesday night, September 21 and j 22, has been extended to all residents resi-dents of Springville and Mapleton by Marie Whiting and Wilford M. Manwaring, president and superintendent sup-erintendent of Kolob Stake MIA. They promise an interesting evening eve-ning that will include a lively assembly as-sembly program, classwork, and a "Fun Hour" where participants wil lenjoy dancing and drama-in-the-round. "We feel all members of our community will enjoy getting acquainted ac-quainted with the fun and good times we have each week at MIA" stated Supt. Manwaring, adding that this special "Meet Me at Mutual" night is a traditional annual an-nual event throughout the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The program, to which everyone over 12 years of age is invited, will begin at 7:30 p.m. next Monday or Tuesday night at all the ward chapels. Third Ward An entertaining program featured featur-ed the opening of the Third ward MIA Tuesday evening under direction direc-tion of Lamar Weight. Fun singing was led by Edna Nielson. Martin Conover entertained entertain-ed with a saxaphone solo accompanied accomp-anied by Mrs. Olea Sargent. Dan Harrison gave an accordian selection. selec-tion. Students from Fredova's Dance studio including Roselyn Maycock, LaRue Savage, Marian Johns, Di-nan Di-nan Allred, Sally Peay, Louise Stephesbn, Lorraine Judd,' Ranee Bills and Joan Singleton gave two tap numbers, accompanied by Mrs. Julia Sumsion. Recreational entertainment was led by Catherine Duncan, Joyce Gustavson and Edna Nielson and the meeting concluded with dancing danc-ing and refreshments. Eighth Ward The Eighth ward also held their opening social and the Fifth ward held their first autumn dance on Monday evening. Everyone had a I good time -dancing to the Howard Nelson orchestra. Stake MIA Leadership Stake MIA Leadership meeting is announced for Monday, September Septem-ber 28, instead of September 21 as was previously announced. It will convene at 9 p.m. at the Stake House. The change was made necessary nec-essary due to the "Meet Me at Mutual" programs. |
