Show Clubs Cooperate ' To Put Over Big Celebration Practically eery civic club is cooperating1 to make the Fourth of July and Centennial Homecoming celebration, July 1-4, a success. One of the major events of the four-day celebration is the midget auto races to be on Monday and Tuesday evenings at the Spring Acres Race Track and these are in charge of the Jaycee. The 20-30 club has charge of the Western Dance at the high school tennis court on Saturday evening. The Jaycee Wives and conducted conduct-ed the contest to select the queen and attendants. Mrs. Catherine Johnson was chairman. Pioneer Program Sunday evening eve-ning is being arranged by the combined com-bined camps of DUP. The high school band will give the concert at the park Sunday evening. The trap shoot at the Hobble Creek canyon, site is sponsored by the Wild Life Federation Monday afternoon and again at 9 a.m., Tuesday. In charge of the miniature parade pa-rade Monday at 6 p.m., is the Ki-wanis Ki-wanis club with Perry Goodlife, chairman. Children who desire to be in the parade are asked to be at the high school at 5:30 p.m. The Lions club is in charge of the children's sports and contest at the City Park on the Fourth o July forenoon beginning at 10 a.m. The sunrise-salute on the morning morn-ing of the Fourth will be by Fred Averett and Ned Childs. The American Legion is directing direct-ing plans for the mammoth parade on the Fourth of July to be held on Main street at 6 p.m. The patriotic program on the afternoon of the Fourth at 3 p.m., (Continued on Page Six) Clubs Cooperate To Put Over Celebration (Continued from Page One) ranged by the Ladies Federated clubs.
