Show OPS Will Watch Sugar Prices Office Reports Sugar prices are not now under controls but the Office of Price Stabilization will watch margins closely and "will take appropriate action" should prices get out of hand, George F. Rock, Regional OPS Director announced in Denver Den-ver last week. Control of manuiacture and wholesale and retail prices presently pres-ently is vested in the Secretary of Agriculture under the Sugar Act of 1948. An amendment to the general ceiling price regulation regula-tion specifically excludes all sugars from OPS control, Mr. Rock explained. |
