Show $ Springville Team Loses to Heber; Plays Again lues. Springville's all-star Pony Leaguers Lea-guers dropped a thrilling game to Heber at Provo Saturday afternoon after-noon by a 5-4 score, but will get another opportunity to qualify for the District Eight Pony League baseball tournament Aug. 1, 2, 3, and 4 at Provo. The same two teams will play again Tuesday at 7 p.m. under the lights at Pony League Park. Springville tallied first in the second inning Saturday. Jimmy Simpkins, first baseman, was safe on a fielding error. He advanced on a walk to Paul Cherrington and scored on Ted Murray's double. Heber went into the lead in the third as Perry Zupan doubled; Dennis Christensen walked and Ted Taylor slashed a two bagger against the boards in left field. Springville threatened again in the fourth with one run. Grant Palfreyman drew a walk; Kent Tipton laid down a bunt and Paul Cherrington scored Palfreyman with n sinp-lp thrmip-h tbp infielrl. The boys from Heber struck twice in the bottom of the fourth, Larry Broadhead homered with George Pitts on base, the result of an error, to send Heber further in the lead. Springville came back with two runs in the fifth, but Heber countered count-ered with their final tally and the run meant the ball game. Ted Murray hit twice for Springville with a single and a double; and Larry Broadhead hit a homer and singled for two hits for Heber.
