Show Garden Party Set For Kiwanians, Partners, Tonight. Kiwanis and their ladies will be entertained at a luncheon and program pro-gram this evening at 7 p.m., in the garden of the Mr. and Mrs. Howard Maycock home, 341 No., Second West. Mr. Maycock, chairman chair-man of the club music and program pro-gram committee, with other members mem-bers of his group will be in charge of plans for the evening. The meeting last week, directed by Harison Conover of the Business Busi-ness Affairs committee, featured Orville Gunther of Lehi in a report re-port on his attendance at the White House conference on Education. Edu-cation. Mr. Gunther explained the need of more schools and the finances fi-nances with which to build them as one of the big problems taken up at the conference. He pointed out that Utah's high birth rate and low death rate together with the fact that a large percent of boys and girls up to 18 were in school and so many went on to college, that Utah was among the states in need of more schools. Mr. Conover was toastmaster for the evening and was assisted with luncheon plans by Taylor Reynolds, Glerm Tipton, Clarence L. Jensen, Arthur Condie and their wives. - |
