Show CREW STRANDED ON SMALL ISLE MANILA. P. I., Nov. 11 ui: The United Stiites navy destroyer Perry loft Manila at 4:50 p. m. today, to-day, for San Bernardino Island where 100 passengers and crew members of the wrecked British freighter. Silver Hazel, were marooned ma-rooned on a storm-lashed rock. The 3.0U ton British silver line vessel struck a rock and .reportedly .report-edly broke in two yesterday. Through rain and heavy seas, survivors of the wreck, said to include in-clude four passengers, were reported report-ed to have made their way to the rock. There was no word as to whether any of the ship's personnel per-sonnel had perished. The only reports of the wreck thus far had been radioed by Capt. W. R. Brust of the S. S. New York, who reported re-ported he was standing by to render ren-der whatever assistance was possible. |
