Show SERVICES FOR JULIA HARMER Funeral services for Mrs. Julia A. Harmer, wife of Joseph E. Har-mer, Har-mer, who died last Wednesday afternoon aft-ernoon at the famiry residence South Main street, from ailments incident to her age, were conducted conduct-ed Sunday in the Second ward chapel, with Bishop E. A. Strong in charge. A vocal duet was rendered by Freeman Bird and Glenn Holley after which George Simkins offered of-fered the invocation. The speakers were George L. Hyde, neighbor and friend of the family for many year, J. H. Wordsworth and S. J Boyer, the latter of the ward bishopric. JElvin Peterson gave a vocal solo; Mrs. Eileen Bird, a violin solo, with piano accompaniment by Miss Helen Clark; and Mrs Ellen Anderson, a vocal solo. The benediction was by Charles Alleman Alle-man and the dedicatory prayer at the city cemetery, was offered by William Wiscombe. Interment was under the direction of the A. Y. Wheeler mortuary. Mrs. Alleman was born in St Joseph, Mo., March 7, 1850, a daughter of Thomas and Lydia Harrington Avery. Sha came tc Utah with her parents in 1862. She was married to Mr. Harmer in the Salt Lake Endowment house, February 5, 1872. The couple celebrated their sixty-third wedding anniversary this year being the oldest married couple in this community. Surviving besides her husband . are four sons and daughters, Mrs. Lydia Sumsion, Mrs. Zella Wig-nall Wig-nall .Joseph W. Harmer, Springville; Spring-ville; Frank Harmer; Yakima, : Wash., 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren .and a brother, Thomas Avery, San Bernardino Calif. |
