H., Api,l l3 U'.H) Twelve navy seaplanes, flying- . in perfect squadron formation, forma-tion, landed at Pearl Harbor at 9:52 a. m., (12.22 p. m., p.s.t.) to-'ay, completing an "easy" i transatlantic flight from San Diego, Culif. Unofficial time of tne flight was llf hours. -IS minutes. The seaplanes, designated for Hawaiian service, broke up their formation upon flying over Pearl harbor, for the first time since they left San Diego at 2:31 p.m. yesterday. Massed in perfect squadron formation, for-mation, the seaplanes, flying true to their target, circled over Pearl Harbor and one by one came down s:noothly and without mishap mis-hap on the bay waters. First sighted from Koko head at 0:30 a. m., the planes soon streaked past Diamond head in V-formation. The plane carrying Lieut. Comdr. L. A. Pope, leader of the flight, was the first to land. J |
