Among the delightful parties of the season was the annual Hallowe'en Hal-lowe'en card party sponsored by the Alpha Beta club ladies at Memorial hall, Saturday afternoon. after-noon. The hostesses were Mrs. B. F. Hoffman, Mrs. Ella Miner, and Mrs. Josephine Brinton. A tasty luncheon concluded four games of progressive bridge and 500, prizes for which were awarded award-ed to Mrs. Alice Davis, Mrs. Cle-onda Cle-onda Miner, Mrs. Warren Bear-dall, Bear-dall, Mrs. Leola Ewing and Mrs. Mann of this city. Approximately eighty guests attended, including includ-ing a number from out of town. A large number of Springville relatives attended a chicken dinner din-ner given by Mrs. Hannah C. Packard at her home in Provo, Monday night in honor of her father, Mr. G. S. Condie who was eighty-nine years old that day. N. I. R. . Warren, Salem; Mrs. Emma Green, Mrs. Elsie Warren and daughter, Mrs. Taylor of Provo. Mrs. Miner was born here, October Oc-tober 27, 1864, a daughte of Charles W. and Delilia Davis. She spent her early life in Salem, moviing to Springville after her marriage to Don Carlos Mmor in 1882. She has always made her home on South Main street. She is the mother of nine children, child-ren, eight of whom attended the birthday celebration. She also has 38 grandchildren. . friends at a party Saturday night I complimentary to Grant Allcman. Progressive games and lunch were enjoyed by all. Mrs. Mary Clegg entertained a group of friends at a bridge luncheon lun-cheon at her home Friday night. Miss Evelyn Harrison entertained enter-tained about 20 school friends at a Hallowe'en party at her home Tuesday. Games and a luncheon were enjoyed by all. The Mothers Study 2lub held their annual guest day program Wednesday night at the home of B. Harrison, and Mrs. Josie AlleJ man were hostesses. A review of the opera "Faust" by Miss Naomi Na-omi Broadbent with music accompaniment ac-companiment by Elmo Cofiman and Miss Ritchie of Provo featured feat-ured the program. President Ella Reynolds was in charge and Mrs. Buleah Whiting introduced Miss Broadbent. Members responded to roll call with the introduction of their guests. At the close of the entertainment a' tasty luncheon lunch-eon was served by the hostesses to over fifty members and guests. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thorn have gone to Moapa to spend several sev-eral weeks, Mr. Thorn being employed em-ployed as bookkeeper for a construction con-struction company there. Robertson, who spent some time on a mission in that country, featured the Home Culture club meeting Friday afternoon, at the home of Mrs. C. O. Claudin. President Mrs. C. E. Eggertson was in charge. Piano solos were given by Mrs. Gene Ales and Mrs. Jessie Dalton gave vocal soros. "Mrs. Harrison Conover was welcomed as a new member into the club.
