An enjoyable Christmas party was given last Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Mary Smart for the M. I. A. Beehive leaders of the various wards in Kolob stake. Approximately 20 ladies were in attendance, and enjoyed games in correlation with their Beehive work. In conclusion a dainty lunch was served and Christmas gifts were exchanged among those present. The Builders Build-ers group of leaders had the en-entertain en-entertain men t in charge. Mrs. Josephine R. Dougall left Friday for St. Louis, Mo., to join her husband, Dr. Mack Dougall, who is taking his interne in-terne work in that city. Mrs. Dougall has been visiting her mother, Mrs. H. T. Reynolds Sr., and other relatives and friends in Springville since late summer. Members of the Ladies' Literary Liter-ary club were entertained Thursday Thurs-day evening at their annual Christmas party, at the home of Mrs. Manilla Brown. Luncheon ivas served at small tables at 8 o'clock after which progressive Neighbor was played. Mrs. Elizabeth Eliza-beth Salisbury received high score prize. During the evening Santa EMaus made a surprise visit. Gifts iere also distributed among those present, including twenty members mem-bers and guests. Those present were seated seat-ed at one long table ' for a delicious de-licious hot supper served early in the evening. Decorations consisted con-sisted of miniature Christmas trees, candles and cellophane flowers with a lovely centerpiece of red and silver candles. Around a beautifully decorated Christmas Christ-mas tree gifts were exchanged among those present. Mrs. Herbert Towers spent the past week in Eureka the guests of. Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Towers. Calif., is spending: the holidays with his grandmother, Mrs. H. T. Reynolds and other relatives and friends here. Members of the S. T. club will he entertained at their annual Christmas party Thursday evening, eve-ning, December 23, at the home of Mrs. Esther Johnson. All are urged to be present at S o'clock. Mrs. Lydia Dallin, formerly of Springville, now residing in Salt Lake City, is recovering from an acute attack of appendicitis. Tile operation was performed Nov. 17 in the L. D. S. hospital. Of special interest to, members of the Alpha Beta club was the annual Christmas party Friday afternoon, at the home of Mrs. F. C. Packard, with Mrs. Packard Pack-ard and Mrs. G. Lowry Anderson as hostesses. Mrs. Charles Boyer, president, was in charge. Christmas Christ-mas carols were sung by the club members and Mrs. Vern Crandall read the "Collect." The program of the afternoon which symbolized the spirit of Christmas, was presented by Mrs. Oliver Dalton and Mrs. Earl S. 'Groesbeck, assisted by Miss Phylis Smart, violin and Mrs. William Witney,, piano. Mrs. Dalton Dal-ton sang the "Angel's Serenade" with violin obligatto by Miss Smart and piano accompaniment by Mrs. Witney. Mrs. Groesbeck read a beautiful Christmas story by Margaret Sangster. Mrs. Dalton gave a pianologue, "I Do Not Like a Roof Tonight," assisted by Mrs. Witney. Phylis Smart rendered ' a violin solo. A feature of the afternoon, was the exchange of gifts by the members'. A beautiful decorated Christmas tree and a dainty luncheon featuring a holiday color scheme, added much enjoyment. Twenty-one members and two 'guests were in attendance. Members of the Current Study club spent a delightful evening Monday when they were entertained enter-tained at their annual Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Rea Straw. From small tables attrac-ti(;ly attrac-ti(;ly decorated with holiday motifs with miniature stockings as favors, a tasty luncheon was served. Later progressive games were played with prizes awarded to Miss Pricella Nielson and Miss Eleanor Matley of Spanish Fork.
