Show High School News Items BY HELEN KELSEY Approximately seventy five new books for Junior High age were purchased last week for the school library. They consisted mostly of fiction and history. Twenty-five new books for the Senior High are expected to arrive this week. An active campaign to put over the yearbook, "L" Artiste," has already al-ready begun. Members of the staff are busily engaged selling subscriptions. sub-scriptions. The assembly Wednesday was given by the high school council. Since this is Education Weckt the program was on education. Miss Naomi Broadbcnt, director of the speech department, read the competitive school play, "Growing "Grow-ing Pains," Monday night. Try-outs will be held Thursday after school. Since this is the school play, all students are encouraged to try out. y Word has been received from Professor T. Earl Pardoc, head of the speech department at the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young university, that Margaret Mar-garet Bird, former S. H. S. student, stu-dent, was succcs.iul in winning" a part in a three-act comedy drama entitled "Big Hearted Herbert," which will be presented in College hall November 8 and 9. |
