Coe. to Charles Straw also of Springville, which took place Thursday in the Salt Lake temple. The young couple will make their home in Springville. Spring-ville. In their honor a number of social events are planned for this week. Members of the Kensington club of the Springville Community church were pleasantly entertained entertain-ed Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Frank Blackett. Sewing and refreshments were enjoyable en-joyable features of the social which also featured the election of officers for the coming year. Mrs. Bill Blanchard was elected president with Mrs. O. Arthur of American Fork, vice president; Mrs. A. M. Lyall, secretary and Mrs. Vera Perham, treasurer. Mrs. Fred Brown was hostess to members of the Jovality club at her home last Friday evening. Following Fol-lowing a tasty luncheon bridge was enjoyed with prizes for the evening going to Mrs. Af ton Pal-freyman Pal-freyman and to Mrs. Bill Lewis, a guest. The entertlning rooms were beautifully decorated with early spring blossoms. Members of the Home Culture entertained at their annual Mother's Moth-er's day social Friday afternoon, at the home of Mrs. W. K. Edding-ton. Edding-ton. Mrs. B. M. Mendenhall and Mrs. R. W. Bra "lord were assisting assist-ing hostesses. The entertaining room" were beautifully decorated with spring blossoms. A nicely arranged program was enjoyed by all, with President Ada Barron in charge. Miss Fern Christensen gave the play, "W'nat Every Woman Wo-man Knows"; Mrs. R. W. Bradford Brad-ford gave a vocal solo with dramatic dra-matic accompaniment by her little daughter Mary Louise, and Mrs. Mary Bird at the piano. Miss Ger-aldine Ger-aldine Eggertsen gave a vocal solo, accompanied by Mrs. Bird. At the close of the program luncheon was served to about 50 members and guests, the latter being presented with lovely Mother's Moth-er's day favors. Complimentary to Mrs. Burl Taylor, formerly Miss Marva Perry, who was married last week, Miss Helen Tew, Miss Naomi Har-mer Har-mer and Miss Mildred Reynolds entertained at a shower at the home of the former Wednesday evening, a delightful program of games together with music by Miss Vera Wheeler and Miss lone Averett, were "enjoyed. Among the Mother's day socials of the past week was that of the Alpuha Beta club held Friday afternoon at the Fourth ward amusement hall. -Mrs. Kenneth Condie, Mrs. G. Lowry Anderson and Mrs. D. R. Wightman were hostesses. A feaTure of the program pro-gram was the play, "The Fair Mrs. Frazier," given by Miss Wald of Provo. Misses Carol and Aleen Condie gave string music accompanied by Miss Annie Fox at the piano and Mrs. Reed Averett, and Mrs. Byron Dastrup gave two vocal selections. A tribute trib-ute to mothers was given by Mrs. Vcrn Crandall. Mrs. F. W. Hoffman, Hoff-man, president welcomed the group. At the close of the program pro-gram a well arranged lunch was served to about 48 members and guests, each guest being presented present-ed with a lovely plant. Mrs. Faye Cranmer was hostess to members or uie Fiaenty ciuo at her home Friday evening. Luncheon was served early in the evening followed by two tables of bridge. Mrs. Louise Whiting and Mrs. LaVon Scott won high score prizes for tne evening games. There were seven club members in attendance with Mrs. Ted Larson Lar-son as a special guest. Miss Naomi Tipton was hostess at a delightful party for her club Friday evening at her home. The girls enjoyed a delicious luncheon together with games, social chat and a theater. Those present were Miss Margaret Meeks, Miss Gladys Meeks, Provo, Lois Thorn, Eva Crandall, Ethyl Crandall, Erma Haymond and Katherine Kirk of Bicknell. , Mr. and Mrs. Roy Blanchard and little daughter Mary Lou, have returned to their home in Denver, Colo., after spending two weeks with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Blanchard and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Miller. President Inez Chader welcomed the members mem-bers and guests present. Program numbers included a story by Mrs. Mae Huntington; a violin solo, Miss Phylis Smart, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Marian Johnson John-son ; a tribute to mothers, Mrs. Cleonad Miner; response, Mrs. George Hales. Spanish Fork ; a vocal solo. Elmer Huff, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Carl Davis; musical musi-cal readings, Pauline Boyer, accompanied ac-companied by her mother, Mrs-Mary Mrs-Mary S. Boyer. At the close of the program, the members and guests, numbering about 60, assembled as-sembled in the large hall, where a nicely arranged luncheon was served at long tables. During the lunch.
