Show IHpox scour Registered scouts and scouters of Kolob district will participate in a campo'ree Friday night and Saturday until noon at Kelleys Grove in Hobble Creek canyon, and will then join other members of the Aaronic priesthood on a pilgrimage to Payson canyon, J. F. Wingate, chairman of the scout district publicity committee, announces. Plans for the campofee were outlined at a meeting of officials Saturday night, with C. G. Salisbury, Salis-bury, who was recently appointed chairman of the district, succeeding suc-ceeding Hilton A. Robertson, in charge. A schedule for the camporee was announced as follows: checking check-ing in of scouts, 2 to 5 p. m.; games, under direction of Coach Carl Davis, 5 to 6 p. m; barbe-que. barbe-que. 6 to 7:30 p. m; program, to include community singing, stunts, campfire stories, and court of honor, S to 9 p. m. The group will camp over night and will participate in a treasure hunt the following day. E. S. Groes-beck Groes-beck w-ill have charge of the games; Freeman Bird, the pro- i gram and John S. Boyer, court! of honor. The barbeque committee commit-tee includes Wilford Manwaring, John Boyer, J. T. Wheeler and Ray Whiting. Bird gave ' a brief review of the proposed . trip, stating stat-ing that the group will leave Provo June 21, and will be accompanied ac-companied to the stat'on by the band. The trip will include stops at Denver. Detroit and Chicago. The group will visit Niagara Fails and Albany. N. Y., and will travel on the Hudson river to New York, where they will spend three days, then proceed to Washington, D. C, to attend the jamboree. The ! international jamboree will be i heid after the national gathering. Howard Salisbury and Taylor Reynolds are among those who are planning to attend. At the meeting Saturday night, the Fourth ward troop reported a skiing trip to Strawberry valley val-ley recently under direction of Fred Averett. The First 1 ward troop had taken an overnight trip to Spring Creek canyon with Leo Felix -in charge. |
