Show McCANN WINS FROM LAWSON Earl Wildcat McCann, Detroit, muscle-tugger, battled his way to a victory over Swede Lawson, Salt Lake grunt-and-groaner in a finish wrestling match at the Park Ro-She arena last Monday. Wrestling Les, and everything else. McCann won the bout by tossing toss-ing Lawson over the ropes to the floor below. Lawson was unable to come back in the required 10 count. McCann took the second fall with a reverse body hold and Lawson won . the first with a Chicago crab. The bout was fast throughout and Henry Jones, referee, was forced to exchange punches with both grapplers to prevent choke holds, hair-pulling and other "gentel" holds. In the semi-windup, Teddy Wilson, Wil-son, Salt Lake, Intermountain fly weight boxing champion, decision-ed decision-ed Marty Weiner, New York. Don Ostler of Springville slugged slug-ged his way to a victory over Ralph Hunley of Provo, hammering hammer-ing the Provoan around the ring in the last two rounds and flooring him for a count of nine in the final chucker. Elmo Curtis of Springville outpointed out-pointed Louise Petro of Provo in a preliminary bout and two battle royals served as curtain raisers |
