Show LOCAL FIRM , TO SUPPLY NEW UNIFORMS New uniforms have been ordered for the Springville high school band, through J. O. Reynolds, local business man. In keeping with the school policy of buying equipment at home wherever possible, all local merchants were asked to furnish samples and prices on the sutis; the samples were then compared com-pared and tested by disinterested experts who judged in favor of the sample submitted by Mr. Reynolds. The school appreciates the interest in-terest shown by the dealers, and feels that the merchants will be more than satisfied to see this business kept at home, in spite of attractive offers from the outside. The uniforms will be of a mar-eon mar-eon color, with silver trimmings and of military cut. This is a difficult financial undertaking un-dertaking for the school, and we are grateful for the contribution made by the Alpha Beta club. It may take several years, with the present appropriation for band work, to cover the amount necessary, nec-essary, but we believe the community commun-ity will . be more than proud to see its band placed on an equal footing with best bands in the state. The state contest will be held at Provo this year, in April, and from all indications will be the largest and most spectacular ever held in the intermountain region. With the new uniforms and rehearsal advantages ad-vantages now at hand, the band should rate well among fine musi cal organizations. |
