Show Home Culture club members were delightfully entertained last Friday afternoon, at the home of Mrs. C. F. Packard. The program pro-gram emphasized Armistice day, with Mrs. Mary Bradford rendering ren-dering a vocal solo, "Flag Without With-out a Stain," and Mrs. Arthur Condie paying a tribute to the World war dead with a poem. Mrs. C. E. Eggertson gave an interesting paper on "German-American "German-American Activities in America." During the meeting, Mrs. Harrison Harri-son Conover was named chair-man chair-man of a public welfare committee. com-mittee. The meeting was in charge of Mrs. G. L. Barron, club president. In conclusion, a well arranged lunch was served by the hostess to about 20 club members present. The next meeting meet-ing of the club will be Friday, at the home of Mrs. Hugh Baxter. The new and interesting game, "Po-ke-no" proved an enjoyable en-joyable feature of amusement, with prizes won by Miss Charlotte Char-lotte Routz and Miss Avis Thompson. Thomp-son. Dainty refreshments were served during the evening to Miss Virginia Simpkins, Miss Sara Marie Binks, Miss Fern Ostler, Miss Lois Hales, Miss Louise Russell, Miss Houtz and Miss Thompson. A delightful party for a number of friends was given by Miss Helen Hel-en Clegg at her home, Thursday evening. A delicious luncheon was served at small tables at 6:30 o'clock. Decorations carried out a patriotic idea, with miniature flags for favory. Covers were laid for Miss Glenna Palfreyman, Miss Melba Witney, Miss Louise Clyde, Miss Cecelia Maycoek, Miss Helen Chrlstensen, Miss Wilna Brown. Vanguards of the First ward gave an enjoyable party for members mem-bers of the Junior class at the ward amusement hall, last Friday evening. Dancing and refreshments featured the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Salisbury accompanied by Howard Salisbury and Miss Donna Salisbury spent several days of the past week in San Francisco. Calif., where they went especially to hear Christine Chris-tine Flagstaff in "Fidalio," in the Metropolitan opera. Members of the American Legion Le-gion auxiliary were entertained at the regular monthly meeting Wednesday night, at Memorial hull. President Emma Gardner presided. A feature of the program pro-gram was a lecture on psychoanalysis psycho-analysis by Mrs. O. S. Peterson of Provo. Charts and practical demonstrations dem-onstrations made the subject especially Interesting. The program pro-gram numbers were suggestive of Armistice day, with vocal numbers Johnson, with Mrs. Harold Alle-man Alle-man as aasisting hostess. A delightful de-lightful afternoon was spent with sewing and general sociability. Mrs. Oliver Dalton and Mrs. E.S Groesbeck entertained with vocal duets. Mrs. Marjorie Bird and daughter Janeal spent several days of the past week with relatives at Helper. She went especially to attend a number of social functions for her sister, Mrs. Ruth Parker who is to be married soon. Ave Delma club members were guests of Mrs. Alice Ence at her home on Wednesday evening. A tasty lunch preceded the evening's entertainment of cards, prizes in which were won by Mrs. Dolley Smith, a club member and Mrs. Naomi Beardall, a guest. Other guests who with eight members attended were Mrs. Marie Stone, Mi's. Evelyn Fry and Mrs. Helen Beardall. The last meeting was at the home of Mrs. Norma Noe wehere cards also were featured as entertainment and Mrs. Leona Allen Al-len and Mrs. Margaret Zibriskie the latter a guest, won prizes. Other guests were Mrs. Hilda Boyack, Mrs. Elsie Robertson, and Mrs. Florence Beardall. Daughters of Pioneers Camp Springville spent a pleasant afternoon aft-ernoon on Thursday at the home of Mrs. Bell Childs. Tess Packard and Clerk Tyler pleased the large crowd with a tango dance, to conclude the floor show. Members of the S. T. club were pleasantly entertained Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Hazel Harrison. A dainty and tasty lunch was served at small tables at 8 o'clock followed by bridge. Prize for high score was won by Mrs. Hilda Grant. Eleven club members and Mrs. Philda Finley attended as guests. Wives of high school and elementary ele-mentary grade school teachers were entertained Thursday afternoon,- at the home of Mrs. Wayne The Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Pio-neers, Camp Aaron Johnson will meet at the home of Mrs. Josie Alleman, Thursday afternoon, November No-vember 18. B. Welch. A program for Armistice day featured the last meeting of the Jeune Mere club held on Wednesday Wednes-day evening, at the home of Mrs. Lucille Childs. Virginia and Genevieve Bird sang "Keep the Home Fires Burning" and "Rose of No Man's land," and Mrs. Florence Allen gave a story. In conclusion, taps were sung. Preceding the pro-' gram, a tastefully arranged tray luncheon was served by the hostess host-ess to thirteen members and the following guests: Mrs. Madge Thorn, Mrs. Marie Johnson, Mrs. Bernice Johonson. All the glamour and romance of old Spain was brought into effect at the Spanish Fiesta held in the beautiful new Springville art building, Friday evening, with the L'Artiste year book staff as sponsors. The main upstairs gallery, and adjoining rooms and hall-ways, with their archways and architectural architec-tural designs of true Spanish type presented a perfect setting for the outstanding social function. Every detail of the party bespoke be-spoke good planning, and the high school students are to be commended for their efforts in tendering such distinctively smart affair. The natural beauty of the building, together with the Complimentary to the bride a nicely arranged party in the form of a miscellaneous shower was given at the home of the bride's mother, last Saturday evening. The program under direction di-rection of Captain Lela Sumsion included the lesson on "Pioneer Memorials" given in an interesting interest-ing manner by Mrs- Mary J. Fin-ley; Fin-ley; a vocal solo, by Miss Vera Wheeler, accompanied by Miss lone Averett and a vocal solo, Mrs. Evelyn Boyer. accompanied by Miss Annie Fox. In observance of Armistice day, Richard Reynolds Reyn-olds and Malcolm Condie conducted conduct-ed a flag ceremony. Short .talks were made by visiting county officers, of-ficers, Mrs. Sarah Passey, Mrs. Baird and Mrs. Ardith R. Porter, who came especially to preside at the election of officers during the afternoon. At the close of the meeting refreshments were served to 42 members and guests. The La Jolie club members were entertained Thursday evening by Mrs. Harriet Miner at the home of her mother, Mrs. Josephine Brin-ton. Brin-ton. A tasty luncheon was served after which Mrs. Clara Sumsion. district school nurse, gave a very interesting talk on "Child Care." The remainder of the evening was spent in social chat and discussion of plans for a Thanksgiving party. Johnson was hostess to members of the Fidelity Fidel-ity Bridge club at her home Friday Fri-day evening. A delicious hot supper sup-per was served at 8 o'clock to eight club members. Later bridge was played with Mrs. Flora Maiben receiving high score prize and Mrs. Rose Roylance, second high.
