Kother, tMlim SPerish in Fire SAN DIEGO, Cal., Nov. 7 (I'.K) A mother and her two children perished early today in a fire which destroyed their home at . La Mesa eight miles east of here, j The three, who suffocated, j were Mrs. H. B- Godfrey, about 40, her son, about 11 and daugh-' daugh-' ter, about 14. Flames were seen bursting from the front of the house by three CCC youths walking past on the highway. They heard screams from the bedroom but the heat drove them back when they tried to enter. Before the La Mesa volunteer fire department and forestry trucks arrived, the house was gutted.
