An especially interesting and attractive theme suggestive of vacation time was carried out in table decorations. In keeping with the theme, toasts in the form of short talks on vacations spent in various parts of the country were given by Mrs. D.B. Welch, Mrs. Bill Blanchard, Miss Carol Bird, Mrs. Paul Eggertson, and Mrs. A. B. Stidha. Mrs. Leola Frandsen of Orem has spent the past three weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Beardall. She left recently for Wyoming to meet her husband hus-band who is employed there. Mrs. Jessie Wickman has returned re-turned to her home in Berkeley, Calif., following an extended visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Sanford in this city. Mrs. Eva K. Pyke, principal of the Onequa school, Salt Lake City and Mrs. Adrian Grey also of Salt Lake City, were dinner guests of Miss Carol Bird at her home Tuesday evening. i .j -i J Mr. and Mis. After the ceremony, the couple were tendered a wedding reception at the home of the bride's parents. Approximately 40 guests attended. An evening of social chat together with a program pro-gram were enjoyed and lunch was .served. Attractive decorations in pink and white were used throughout, through-out, the entertaining rooms. The bride and groom plan to make their home in Springville. Mr. and Mi's. Max Kless were among the Spi ingville' people who spent a few days of the past week in Salt Lake City at the Pioneer days' celebration. Mi-, and Mrs. LaCelle Whiting left the past week to make their home indefinitely in Salt Lake City. and Mrs. Frank Sanford one day this week. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Pearce of Sait Lake City were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Beardall and other relatives and friends here Sunday. Dee Sanford, recovering from a recent operation for appendicitis, appendi-citis, is spending a few days with friends in Spanish Fork. Verlain Beardall is spending the week with Miss Darlene Forsyth For-syth at Price. . Charles Sanford is visiting his daughter Mrs. Paul Holley and family at Seattle, Wash. Later he plans to go to San Diego, Calif., for a short visit. Miss Beth Kindred returned Sunday fz'om a 10-days' visit with Mr. and Mrs. Creed Kindred. Kin-dred. Miss Kathleen Kindred of Idaho Falls, Ida., is spending her vacation va-cation with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Harker of Salt Lake City has spent the past ten days with .her sister, Mrs. Joseph Jos-eph Olsen and family here. Outstanding among the parties of the past week was one given by the Legion Auxiliary for their husbands and partners at Memorial Mem-orial hall, Wednesday evening. A dainty and well arranged luncheon lunch-eon was served at small tables at 8 o'clock. The tables were especially attractive with favors in miniature potted artificial flowers. During the forepart of the evening, an entertaining program, pro-gram, was given with music furnished fur-nished by the Legion Auxiliary chorus ladies directed by Guy Brown. Misses Dama Grant and Venice Whiting entertained with dance numbers. Later bridge and "500" were played with prizes for the games being won by Mrs. east, spending a short time in St. Louis, Kansas City and Denver. They returned in a new car. Miss Ardit'h Madsen, former resident and now hostess on the United Air Lines, and Miss Lou Esplin of Logan were recent visitors of Miss Mary Hadley. The three spent the past week in Logan. Lo-gan. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Johnson returned re-turned recently from an extended trip to Old Mexico. They also spent some time in Arizona, Mesa Verde and at Boulder dam. They traveled as far south as Taos, N. M. Miss Mary Cuburu of Price was a recent visitor at the home of Miss Wanda Stewart. Miss Bonnie McCurdy of Salt Lake City spent a few days of the past week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. McCurdy. Members of the Elite club and t'heir partners gave a canyon party last Sunday evening in Balsam park. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Christensen Chris-tensen and children Helen, Hal and Connie, have returned from a week's vacation trip to Zion's and Bryce canyons in southern Utah. Mrs. LaVon Scott was hostess to members o'f the Fidelity Bridge club at her home in Provo Friday Fri-day evening. A delicious luncheon lunch-eon was served at 8 o'clock followed fol-lowed by three tables of bridge. Beautiful handkerchiefs in pastel shades were given as favors.
