Since that time he has studied' at the University of W- j'-.:nyon where he took his degree of Master of Business Administration in 1924, and at Ohio State university where he pursued studies leading to a Ph. D. degree in 1927-28. When the B. Y. U. stadium was projected, Prof. Clark became an active supporter and did a grr-at deal toward financing the undertaking. under-taking. Knight Allen, who has reccntly been appointed to the faculty of Brigham Young university, is a. man of considerable experience in his field. After graduating with a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young, he filled a mission to the western states where he served at president of the San Francisco district. Later he returned to California Cali-fornia where he enrolled at Stanford Stan-ford university fromwhich he took his degree of Master of Business Administration in 1928. Reports of his work at Stanford indicate that he was outstanding in that institution, insti-tution, known for its high standards stand-ards of scholarship. During his stucent days at Brigham Brig-ham Young, Mr. Allen was manager man-ager of athletics, president of the Commerce club, and a member of the Alpha Delta commerce fratsrn-ity. fratsrn-ity. He was also a varsity tennis star. CLARK NAMED ACTING DEAN Succeeds H. V. Hoyt; Addition Addi-tion of Knight Allen To Faculty Made. i . Prof. Herald R. Clark, manager of the Students' Supply association and professor of finance and banking bank-ing at Brigham Young university, has been appointed acting dean of the College of Commerce, to succeed suc-ceed Dean Harrison V. Hoyt, who has accepted a position as dean of the College of Commerce of Oregon Ore-gon State college. . This action was taken Dy the board of trustees after the resignation resig-nation of Dean Hoyt. At the same meeting Knight Allen, Al-len, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Allen, of Provo, was appointed to an instructorship in accounting j and business administration. Professor Clark Is well known in financial and banking circles in the state of Utah, and in the merchandising merchan-dising field throughout the country, coun-try, as he has been an active worker among the managers of college and university bookstores. He is a member of the board of directors of the Provo chamber of commerce, and for years has worked work-ed for the advancement of Provo. Prof. Clark brings to his new position po-sition years of training experience. After taking his A. B. degree from brigham Young in 1918, he became -1 |
