A total of Sl.320,200 will be expended ex-pended during 1930 by the Mountain Moun-tain States Telephone and Telegraph Tele-graph Company for the Improvement Improve-ment and extension of the tele phone service in Utah, according to information received fiom President F. H. Reid. These expenditures will be made with the telephone company s continuing con-tinuing aim in view of providing the most and best possible service at the least possible cost consistent consist-ent with financial safety. Because of a rapidly increasing use of the. long distance service a considerable portion of this years expenditure will be used to provide additional circuits to accommodate the present and anticipated long distance traffic. All new circuits will be of copper wire, providing clearer voice transmission; and existing ex-isting iron circuits will be replaced with copper in many instances. About $184,000 will be devoted to extending and improving the long distance service in Utah this year. Provision is made for a wider and more satisfactory local service for the communities served by the Mountain States company. It is |
