Show COMMISSION ACTS ON ROAD LIGHTING The petition of the road committee commit-tee of the Kiwanis club before the board of county commissioners to have dangerous curves and crossings on the state highway illuminated at night was acted upon favorably by the board Monday morning. Immediate action cannot be taken in the matter, however, Chairman James T. Gardner said, but the nec essary lighting of dangerous places would be accomplished as soon as sufficient funds could be found available for that purpose. Aside from the lighting of the dugway coming down from Provo Bench and the Provo river bridge as petitioned by the Kiwanis club committee, there are several other points in the county equally dangerous, danger-ous, according to Mr. Gardner. These places are at Spanish Fork, the Saratoga road crossing, and Soldier Summit. A petition to go ahead with the Provo canyon road work was also presented to the board, but no definite defi-nite action was taken. |
