Show SOCIETY ( In compliment to her sons Eugene Eu-gene and Franklin, Mrs. E. L. Faux entertained at a. nicely arranged birthday party at their home Monday Mon-day afternoon. Many delightful games supervised by the hostess were played, during the afternoon, and a delicious luncheon with a beautiful birthday cake was served to about twenty little friends of the boys. Outstanding among the parties of the week end was one given Friday evening when Miss Merle Clackett entertained the members of N. I. P. club at her home. Large boquets of autuma flowers were arranged to decorate the entertaining entertain-ing rooms. Progressive auction bridge was the principle feature of amusement. In the game favors were won by Miss Jessee Packard and Mrs. Lew Averett won the consolation. con-solation. A delicious luncheon was served by the hostess to the following follow-ing ladies present: Miss Lois Blanchard, Miss Hilda Clegg, Mrs. Thelma Harmer, Miss Mabel Averett, Aver-ett, Miss Ethel Taylor, Mrs. Lucile Packard, Miss Jessee Packard and Mrs. Lew Averett. Complimentary to Mrs. Ethel Duke of Provo, formerly Ethel Dangerfield of this city Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Thorpe entertained at a nicely arranged dinner at their home Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Fullmer and family were also guests. Music furnished pleasant entertainment following the dinner. Eldon Francis Beardall of this city and Miss Ellen LaVern Wilson of Spanish Fork were married Friday Fri-day at the county court house by E- Byron Dastrup, county clerk. . i The Mother's Study club members will be entertained Friday afternoon after-noon at the home of Mrs. Hilda Grant. A fine program will be given and all members are asked to be present promptly at 4 o'clock. A nicely arranged dinner was given Sunday by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin at their home in compliment to Dr. and Mrs. T. Fred Hardy and family and Mrs. Mary Reynolds all of Salt Lake City. Covers were laid for twelve guests. An enjoyable party of this week was held Tuesday evening, when the junior class of the First ward I. A. gave an initiation party for the new members at the home of Miss Maurine Fullmer. All the girls of the class wore their clothes backwards to their M. I. A. class. Later they assembled at the Fullmer Full-mer home to make candy and play games. A delicious luncheon was served in conclusion. The party was chaperoned by the teachers: Miss Gwendolyn Hansen and Miss Lucille Curtis and the following members were present: Miss Madelyn Made-lyn Weight, Miss Leona Clegg, Miss Mae Taylor, Miss Edna Kennedy, Miss Louise Bramall, Miss Beth Taylor, Miss Joy Fullmer, Miss Mary Childs, Miss Velma Blanchard, Blanch-ard, Miss Dorothy Ochse, Miss Eleanor Clark, Miss Bernice Rolfe, Miss Mildred Barker, Miss Marie Rovers, Miss Dora Van Patten. Assisting hostesses were Miss Blanche Crandall, Miss Eva Barker and Miss LaVon Ashcraft. Mrs. Janet Gogarty assisted by her daughter Mrs. F. W. Hoffman very charmingly entertained the members of Valley Circle at the Gogarty home Thursday evening. A profusion of autumn flowers in bowls and baskets were used as decorations in the entertaining rooms. Sewing and social chat were the diversions of the evening. Miss Bryant of Springville, and Miss Helen Taylor of Shelley, Idaho, were invited guests, Ada Mounton Thompson of Springville and Edward Perry of j Bingham were issued a marriage ' license at Farmington last week. i Friends here have received word of the marriage of Miss Louisa Rolfe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs . Diaz Rolfe to C. E. Crooks of California. Cali-fornia. Miss Rolfe attended the local high school and had many1 friends here, prior to the family moving to California. A splendid talk on "Foreign Affairs" Af-fairs" given by Hii Baxter was the outstanding feature of the program pro-gram given Friday afternoon when the ladies of the Home Culture club met at the home of Mrs. J. O. Houtz. In addition to the talk two vocal solos were rendered by Mrs. Bert West and Mrs. Mary Witney also furnished two piano selections. A dainty lunch was served after the meeting by the hostess assisted by her daughters Mrs. Richard Johnson and Mrs. C. G. Salisbury. Mrs. D. P. Brinton was a special nvited guest. |
