Show Interesting Henry Mr Henry Ford might observe, with much enjoyment, possibly tinctured with a moiety of fond regrets, that the government seems to have treed another distinguished pro moter and publisher. i Mr E G Lewis promotes Universal City, near St. Louis, and similar projects at Palos Verdes and Atascadero, Calif. Alo lie publishes a magazine. It is a sort of combination of business and pleasure liable to lead to recantation, as Mr. Ford discovered, it being very difficult for the right hand to keep exact tally on what the left hand doeth. Mr Lewis promoted by promising each subscriber to his magazine one lovely almond tree. The government is trying the promoter-publisher for mail fraud, charging that when - - he had 0G52 subscribers, he had only 2770 trees ajid part of them not almonds, but prunes. The enormity m nursing along an almond tree, for four of five years, and then getting prunes is something the government won't stand. And there s i no hope in recanting for Publisher Lewis. |
