Show FIRE DESTROYS HOFHEIN HOME EARLY WED'Y A fire of undetermined origin burned to ashes the home of L. T. Hofhein, East Center street, Springville. Spring-ville. about 3 a. in. Wednesday. There was no one in the house at the time of the fire Mr. and Mrs. Hofhein being in Portland. Ore., and the children were staying with relatives, rela-tives, according to information disclosed dis-closed this morning. Various rumors as to the origin of the fire were circulaled Wednesday Wednes-day morning, one of whiei. wa- fo the effect that some of the Ho) w"n children were in the house Wednesday Wednes-day night. This, however, is not It rue, according to relatives with whom the children are staying, who are of the belief that burglars entered en-tered the home and threw a lighted match in a closet. Tt was .S:15 o'clock in the morning when the fire was first seen by .Tames Giles, a neighbor of the Hof-heins.. Hof-heins.. who turned in the nlarm. At that time the entire house was in flames, making the efforts of the fire department practically futile. The houses part brick and part frame, was completely destroyed as i was all of the furniture and personal per-sonal effects. The loss is estimated al upwards of .OOO and is said to hav been largely covered by insurance. |
