Show I MAPLETON NEWS. An enjoyable social given by the officers of the relief society was held at the home of the president, Mrs Joseph Jensen. The rooms were prettily decorated with pink carnations. carna-tions. Musical selections and games were the features of the afternoons entertainment, after which a delicious delic-ious luncheon was served to forty guests. Prizes were won by Mrs. Horace Perry and Mrs. Frances Snow. The Mapleton male quartet will render a part, on the program at the I Spanish Fork Kiwanis luncheon to j be held at the Cottam Cafe Feb. 7. Games were played and refreshments were served. The guests included Mozella Houtv, Leona and Ruth Anderson, Leah and l'hilis Perry, Melba Hall, Lacell Haymond, Fred Jensen, Elmer Wis-enmhe, Wis-enmhe, Billy Hoppla and Ermel Marton. Mr. nnd Mrs. R. Games were tile feature after which luncheon lunch-eon was served. Those present were I -Mr. and Mrs. Willis Ilanner, Mr. i and Mrs. Glen Ilolloy, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Levell Bird, Mr. nnd Mrs. Howard Whiting Mr. and Mrs. Silencer Mackley, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Marshbanks, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Bird and Mr. and Mrs. Mack Whiting. A birthday party was held in the .Mapleton town hall Monday evening January 21, in honor of Mrs. Anna i M. Whiting who has reached her seventieth mile stone. Refreshments were served to 75 guests. Numbers on the program appeared as follows: fol-lows: song Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tew; invocation. George Whiting; reading, Gladys Jensen ; community , singingled by Henry Tew; remark's by Mrs. Whiting. Mrs. Celesta Whit-more Whit-more and Samuel Kulkley; readings were given by Dolores Dttoseu, Fay Whiting and Leah Hill. Jokes were ready by Hilda Close; selec-i selec-i tions were played by the Mapleton band. Many nice nnd useful presents pres-ents were received. Mrs. Anna Whiting is the mother of ten living children, four son and six daughters. Burr Whiting of Leslie, Idaho; Clarence Whiting. Seven I of the children were present. She has fifl grand children and 10 great I grandchildren. She is the widow of the late Edwin Lucius Whiting. |
