Show MAPLETON MAN PASSES AWAY Anthon Neilson, Prominent Church and Civic Worker, Dies Suddenly. Anthon Neilson, 70 years of age, well-known church and civic worker of Mapleton, died Saturday morning at his home in Mapleton. Death was caused by a growth in the throat. He had only been bedfast bed-fast during the past week. Mr. Neilson was born iu Denmark and emigrated to America after becoming be-coming a member of the Latter-day Saints church in his native land. He came to Utah in 1SG2, settling in Fairview, Sanpete county. Later he moved to Colorado, where he lived until coming to Mapleton about 13 years ago. He has always been prominent in church and civic affairs and has held several places of trust in the various vari-ous communities in which he has been residing. At one time he was a member of the high council in one of the stakes in Colorado. . Pie is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Neilson, and the following sons and daughter : Bishop L. A. Neilson, Mrs. Bert Whiting, J. C. Neilson, Mareellus Neilson and Ernest Neilson, all of Mapleton ; Melvin Neilson of Alamosa, Colo., and Mrs. Eugene Morten of Sam-ford, Sam-ford, Colo. ! Also the following brothers and t sister: Peter Nielson of Salt Lake City, Andrew Nielsen of Lajora, Colo. : Mrs. J. Y. Jensen of Castle Dale, Emery county, Utah ; Mrs. Caroline Miner of Fairview. Sanpete San-pete county, Utah, .and Mrs. Hyrum DeFrise of Mesa, Ariz. Funeral services were held in the Mapleton ward chapel Monday, January Jan-uary 7. The house was filled to its capacity by the many friends and relatives, among whom were relatives from Salt Lake City, Fair-view Fair-view and Colorado. The floral offering of-fering was exceptionally large and beautiful. Oscar Whiting of the ward bishopric was in charge. The opening open-ing prayer was offered by Alonzo Fullmer, and tbe benediction was pronounced by H. T. Reynolds of Springville. The Mapleton male quarter sang the opening and closing clos-ing numbers and solos were rendered ren-dered during the service by Elmer Bird and Spencer Mackley. Tbe speakers were E. M.
