Show BEETS BIG $885,336 10 UTAH GOUNTY Second Installment of Season Made Today for I5eets De- livered During November TODAY'S CHECKS AMOUNT TO $157,190 Third Installment Depends Upon Cost of Sugar During Next Few Months Christmas cheer in the shape of large checks was distributed today among the heetgrowers of Utah county for beets delivered to Ihe four sugar factories of the county during the mouth of November. The amount distributed wns $in7.4!Kl, which represented 20,215 tons of beets. Tho Utah-Idaho Sugar company paid $184,41)0, for 22.415 tons of beets delivered at the Lehi, Payson and Spanish Fork factories, while the Springville-Mapleton Sugar company com-pany paid $23,000 for 3.S00 tons delivered de-livered at its Springville plant. The farmers of the Payson district dis-trict delivered during November 0020 tons of beets for which $30,120 were paid. The amount distributed among the growers in the Spanish Fork district was $40,020 for 7,070 tons of beets. Tho Lehi district farmers received $52,350 for a de- livery of 8,725 tons of beets. With the distribution of the checks today, the two sugar companies com-panies have paid the heetgrowers of the county this season $885,330. Of this amount the Springville-Mapleton company paid $189,905 to the beetgrovvers of Sringville and Mapleton. The entire amount paid in the various districts of the Utah-Idaho Sugar company during the season is as follows: Lehi. $250,350; Spanish Fork, $204,900; Payson, $180,120. Since the beets are sold by the growers to the sugar companies for a stipulated guarantee per ton plus a per ceutage of th- net income on the sale of sugar, the growers are expecting another payment for their beets. This payment, however, is not expected until sometime next Miring. |
