This decision was reached at the regular meeting of the city council held Wednesday evening when .1. F. Smith, chairman of tbe ways and means committee, made the motion that the council pass a resolution calling for an election to determine tlu ndvisnhility of bonding the city for SSH.tMKK The said money to he used in the replacement of the re-maining re-maining part of the wooden stave in the city's water system and to make such repairs as may be divined necessary. The motion carried unanimously. The waterworks committee was uithorized to accept bids on the material used iu the new system, and the Ways and Means committee commit-tee was authorized to accept bids on a twenty year serial bond, the redemption of which will begin in lli.'iu. AVhile the bond is to extend over n period of twenty years the city officials contemplate that it shall be paid within fifteen years, in yearly payments of approximate-ly approximate-ly $5,000.
