Show SPRINGVILLE IS WINNER OVER 1 LEHI'S TEAM Springville Won Way lo Final i Games of Utah High School Tourney. ! DESERET GYM, SALT LAKE CITY, March S. Coming frorrt behind be-hind a 12 to 10 score in favor of Lehi, Springville started the third period with a strong five man defense de-fense and a super passing game which brought them quickly to the lead. After Graham in the opening of the third quarter had run down under the basket and tied the score from a clear shot, Springville had things its own way and was never headed. Close guarding on the part of Lehi in the first two quarters kept the Spriugville boys from rolling up the score. The Springville lads played splendid splen-did ball, the passing and team work being especially noteworrhy. Clark. Burt, Cramner and Thorne played good floor work and Graham displayed dis-played his usual strength at the s-trong guard position. The determination and the fighting fight-ing spirit of Thorne is a great deal responsible for the showing of Springville. He was mixed up wirh almost every play and rustled the ball for the forwards in exceptional style, besides making some difficult baskets. E. Smith, Lehi star forward, sent in three points from the free line early in the game. Cramner scored a free trial and Burt made the first field goal of the game, only to be followed closely by L. Smith who scored a fielder at the close of the first quarter. Cramner performed again at the free line and Burt again came across with a field goal. E. Smith became the center of attraction while he tallied two from the free line, scored a field goal and sent in another tally via the foul route. After Af-ter L. Smith's fielder had raised the score 12 to K in fnvnr of Thorne became" desperate and did some classy rustling scoring two fielders before the gun ended ihe half an chalked up the score at 12 to 10 in favor of Lehi. In the third quarter Lehi never had a look in. Everything was for Springville. The Lehi men were watched closer than they had been, a stronger defensive game being put up against them and Springville Spring-ville taking advantage of every opportunity op-portunity to score. Graham opened the scoring when he rushed under the basket and while all of the Lehi and other Springville players were congregated congregat-ed in Lehi territory, bad a nice setup, set-up, the ball being fed to him by Thorne. Cramner scored from the field nrt Thorne added another point. Clark sent in his first fielder followed fol-lowed closely by Burt. All of this raised the Springville score at the end of the third period to 19 while Lehi remained at 12. In the fourth quarter Springville came back determined to cinch the game. They uncorked a superior passing game and set a pace that the Lehi squad could not stand. Burt scored two points from the foul line and L. Smith added another an-other lone point to Lehi's score. Clark gave Springville a point from a free throw and Thorne found the hoop again from the field.
