It was greatly enjoyed by a large crowd of ladies present. Mrs. Ivan Child will be hostess to the nieib"ers of the Mother's Study club at her home Friday. A nice program will be given and all members are asked to attend. A delightful afternoon was spent Wednesday by a number of young folks when Mrs. E. E. . Knudsen entertained at a birthday party in compliment to her twin sons Billie and Bobbie. Various games supervised super-vised by the hostess were played during the afternoon and later a dainty lunch was served at two long tables .each being centered with a pretty birthday cake holding hold-ing seven candles. Covers were laid for the following little friends: Anna Smith, Ann-Marie and Dixie Lee Wilson, Carol Allan, Norma and Bobbie Pierce, Marion, Melba and Frank Witney, Taylor ana Richard Reynolds. Harry Alleman, Keith Harrison, Ray Newett, Herbert Her-bert Taylor, Allan Miner and Damin Harrison. A number of pret-birthday pret-birthday gifts were received by the honor guests. j Members of the Mother's Study! club entertained at a party Wednesday Wed-nesday evening in compliment to their husbands. A banquet was served early in the evening at the Harrison hotel where a program consisting of comic readings by Mrs. Francis Whitney, and Mrs. Ircna Roylanee were given; also Prominent among the social events of the past week was the reception given by Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Clyde at their home Friday Fri-day evening in compliment to their son Elden who was married to Miss Madge Houter of Payson Monday The evening was pleasantly spent with games, music and social chat. In conclusion a delicious luncheon was served by the hostess to about forty two relatives and friends present. Many pretty and useful gifts were received by the honor guests. Tihe members of the Social Twelve Card club will be entertain-; ed this evening at the home of Mrs. Bert Rowland. All members are invited to attend. 1 j A pleasant afternoon was spent Friday when members of the Alpha Beta club were entertained at the home of Mrs. LaRue Deal. A review re-view of the book "In the Palace of the King" by F. Marion Crawford was given in splendid manner by Mrs. Frank Salisbury. A dainty luncheon was served by the hostess assisted by her sister Mrs. Geneve Merrill and Miss Lucy LaVanger to sixteen members ad four guests present. Ladies of the Alpha Beta club will entertain at a social in compliment compli-ment to their husbands Friday evening eve-ning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Mendenhall. An invitation is extended to members and partners part-ners to attend. Mrs. Rose Boyer and daughter Ruth had as their guests during the past week Misses Relia and ; Lela Allen of Salt Lake City. George Raymond Turner of this city and Erma Harris of Provo were married Saturday at the , county court house. The ceremony ; was performed by E. Byron Dast-: Dast-: rup, county clerk. Mrs. Ford Crandall was hostess Monday evening to the members of the Ladies Literary club of this city and a few invited friends. The evening was pleasantly spent with a program consisting of a story by Mrs. Grant Crandall, piano selections se-lections by Mrs. LaCelle Sumsion, and a reading, Mrs. Frank Salisbury. Salis-bury. A dwinty lunch was served by tlie hostess assisted by her sister sis-ter Mrs. Hugo Pi ice of Provo to the following ladies present: Mrs. Cornell Mendenhall. Mrs. George Straw. Mrs. LaCelle Sumsion. Later the party adjourned to the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Whiting where a delightful de-lightful time was spent with games, music and social chat. At midnight light refreshments were served. About thirty members and guests were present to enjoy the delightful affair. Mrs. Sarah E. Davis was delightfully delight-fully surprised at her home Tuesday Tues-day afternoon by a number of lady friends. Those in charge of the party were Mrs. Hannah Alleman, Mrs. Ellen A. Harmer and Mrs. A. Wilmot. A delightful afternoon was spent with games and social chat during which a delicious lunch was served. i |
