NEWS ITEMS j - I Dr. La Prince, government doctor, doc-tor, gave a lecture on "Malaria Conditions Con-ditions of Communities an.i the Prevention of Them" in the Springville Spring-ville Fourth ward chapel Monday at 3:30 p. m. A number of Maple-ton Maple-ton people attendfd. A well baby conference vi'l be held Thursday, October IS, in the ward chapel. It is desired tln't all mothers bring their children under school age. The girls of the Old Testament class of the Sur.d-iy school, under the direction of Fay Jensen, gave an entertainment last Wednesday evening in connection with the picture pic-ture show, "The Underworld." Mr. and Sirs. Charles T,. Whiting and daughter Helen spent October ri, 6 and 7 in Strawberry valley. They fished on Strawberry lake and report a splendid catch of trout. The first "M" men's supper of the season was given Thursday in the ward amusement hall under the supervision of the new officers who are: Welby Warren, president; presi-dent; Wayne Holley and Clyde Larson, Lar-son, counsellors; and Leonard Whiting, Whit-ing, secretary and treasure!'. A delightful de-lightful program was given during the supper, after which games were enjoyed. A large crowd was in attendance at-tendance and a very enjoyable evening eve-ning was spent. Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Whiting visited Sunday in Prove with Mrs. Esther Walter, a former resident of Mapleton. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Law were Provo visitors Sunday. Mrs. Carol Waters was an overnight over-night guest of her mother, Mrs. Alice Waters, Sunday. |
