Show 'Y' STADIUM DEDICATION TO BE BIG EVENT As a result of the showing the "Rrighain Young Cougars made m gainst Colorado Aggies, the conference con-ference champions last week, fans and supporters of the team are of the opinion that the dedication game between Brigham Ycung unci the Utah Aggies in the new stadium Saturday. October 27. will be the greatest battle yet seen in Utah county and one of the best in the stato this yeir. . Utah Aggies are fortified with several outstanding players. Captain Cap-tain Snvrt has proved his wov.h both in the contests against the Trojans in southern California nnd in the hattle with Denver university last Saturday. The Aggies piohnbly have the best balanced team th-y have had in years, according to all reports. Smart, and the other Aggies f or that matter, will be matched man for man by the fighting Cougars. Owen Rowo, the Spanish Fork speed ball, "Clug" Vacher, the 13r pound projectile, and Paul Thorn, the Springville Red . Grange, are three men who have sparkled on all fields this year. The fourth man of the quartet, Larry Peterson, is a "hefty" youth who knows football from all angles and is a shark at calling the signals and running the ball. Should ho need them. Coach Ott i Romney has Joe Buvs, a brilliant quarterback from Eureka; Russel Magelby. a fullback and passer from Monroe; Mark Eallif. a charging charg-ing demon from Ogden; and Bliss Hoover, one of the most accurate passers in the game, to throw into the contest. The Cougar line has steadily improved im-proved from the beginning of the season. In Colorado last Saturday though outweighed more than 10 i pounds per man, they prevented the champions from gaining regularly on straight football and forced them to pass for one of their scores. Coach Romney has been drilling his men on some new formations which will be good to watch even by the novice. Though the game promises to be a thriller, the game is but one angle of the big day. Church and state officials will be present to take part : in the dedicatory ceremonies which will preceed the game! These will begin at 2 p. m. and will be followed fol-lowed immediately by the contest. A souvenir booklet is being prepared pre-pared for those who attend, a booklet book-let in which pictures of the two squads and of the two coaches will be printed. This, according to F..S. Harris, president of the instiution, is to be the biggest athletic event central Utah has seen in years. The first unit of what is to be a magnificent mag-nificent stadium will be entirely completed and ready for use. |
