Show SPRINGVILLE MEN INVITED TO JOIN N. G. U. Young men of .Springville are given mi invitation to joint Battery C, National Guard of T'tah, by Captain L. li. Kdwards of Provo. who states that members of the guard living no further nv.ny tlmn Springville would encounter liltle difficulty in fulfilling the requirements of the Provo troop. At this time there is n movement on to strengthen the various units of the guard for the annual encampment encamp-ment which will he held at the Jordan Jor-dan Narrows July 14 to 21. Captain Edwards calls attention to the fact that young men are paid from $1 to .$1.80, according to their rank for each evening they spend in drilling, and that the members of the battery are given the use of the Armory club rooms which are equipped equip-ped with iool room, basket ball, hand ball and general gymnasium, hot and cold shower baths, and ether facilities for keeping physically physical-ly fit. The encampment this year, Captain Cap-tain Edwards points out, will give the guardsmen excellent training, and conveniences that have never heretofore been available within the state. It is stated that .$05,000 has been expended ex-pended to put the camp into firs; class condition, and next year a similar sum will be expended, Captain Cap-tain Edwards states.
