Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Taylor of Spanish Fork entertained at dinner Sunday for seventeen Springville guests. Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Hatch and Mr. jand Mrs. D. W. Wixam all of Salt Lake City were week end guests of T. T. Hatch and Mr. and Mrs. Chas Conover. A surprise party in honor of Cluiiies Conover was given February. Feb-ruary. 20. Twenty couples enjoyed dancing, music and songs. An informal in-formal luncheon was served. Mrs. J. C. Crandall and Miss La Rene Reynolds entertained at the home of the former for the Gleaner girls of the Fourth ward Monday night. After a social hour a dainty luncheon was served to the following follow-ing : Mrs. S. L. Mendenhall, Jr., Mrs. J. C. Crandall. Misses Helen Pal-freyman, Pal-freyman, Inez Wheler, Maud Martin, Charlotte Hjorth, Edith Knight, La Rene Reynolds, Ellen Howe and Miss Bertha Lewis of Spanish Fork. Mrs. D. C. Bvimhall and Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Jensen motored to Salt Lake Friday to see "The Bird of Paradise" at the Wilkes theater. Mr. and Mrs. II. B. Gardner announce an-nounce the arrival of a baby girl born March 7. Principal R. L. Done spent Sntnr-day Sntnr-day in Salt Lake City attending the state athletic association meeting. Mrs. Win. Wood and children of Preston, Idaho, is spending a few weeks with her parents Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Fullmer. Miss Evelyn Miner 'entertained at a birthday dinner for eleven of her girl friends Sunday March 8. Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Wigblmnn left for Pasadena, Calif., last week. It is reported that their daughler there is very ill. Mr. and Mrs. Willard J. Hanson and son and Mrs. Tayb).' of alt Lake were visiting with Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Clandin last Saturday. Members of the Beehive class of the Second ward under the bred ion of Mrs. C. O. Clandin iravo a surprise sur-prise party in honor of Mrs. Ford Crandall at. her home and she was presented with a polled flower. Games, musical numbers and refreshments re-freshments were enjoyed. I Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Crandall entertained Wednesday evening for Mr. and Mrs. Harold Williams who will return to Idaho very soon. Mrs. Amasa Rowland was hostess to the S. T. club at the home of her mother, Mrs. Myron Crandall, Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Manford Iluntehin-son Iluntehin-son were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Weight at dinner Sunday evening. Mrs. Julia Packard was hostess to the Daughters of the Pioneers at her home Thursday afternoon. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Thorn Miner a girl and to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Strong a boy. Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Whiting and daughter LeJuene, and son Earl were the dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Ward and family Sunday. Friends of Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Ward surprised them at their home last Monday evening. The evening was pleasantly spent in playing games and music. An exceptionally good meeting was held by the Relief Society of the Second ward Tuesday afternoon. Beehive girls under the supervision of Miss Verona Graham gave a fash- ion revue of the styles since 1770 and also sang "Love's Old Sweet Song." Mrs. Maliss Miner gave a reading and Mrs. Gladys Boyer sang. Mrs. Mark Cook was presented with a book for her services in the Relief Society. Mrs. Eva Crandall. Mrs. Hannah Davis, Mrs. Jeane Pierce. Mrs. Martha Harrison and Mrs. Rcltf Crandall, all officers who have called to fill offices in the stake were presented a carnation by Mrs. Emily Crandall, stake president. presi-dent. Appropriate snatches of poetry were read by Mrs. Margaret Miner. The Home Culture club met at the home of Mrs. Harold Christensen, March 0. The following program was rendered: a musical reading by Miss Graham, Mrs. D. A. Smith accompanying ac-companying on the piano: roll call was answered by 22 members with favorite poems: "Poems Every One Should Know," by Mrs. Myron E. Crandall.
