Stevensen and daughters, daugh-ters, Beth and Dorothy, of Garfield, Will Coffman. . Mrs. E. W. Hi-own and son Frank accompanied by Mrs. J. E. Hoyle of Salt Lake, spent Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Wandel Openshaw of Santnquin. Miss Josephine Dougall is spending spend-ing this week in Salt Luke as the guest of Mrs. G. M. P. Dougnil and Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Park. Miss Anna Starr, who is teaching school at Georgetown, Idaho, came borne Friday to spend the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Starr. Miss Louise Coffman is home after recovering from an operation at the Dee hospital in Ogden. She was accompanied by her sister, Miss Dora Coffman, who will spend the holiday in this city. Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Olsen were the Christinas dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Cherringtou of this city. Mr. Harlan Boyer returned to St. George Monday after spending the holidays in this city with his wife and family. Mrs. P. P. Brinton entertained at a well appointed dinner party Sunday for the following guests:. Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Straw and daughter Margery, Mr. and Mrs. Pier Brinton and family. The Gleaner girls of the Fourth wurd M. L A. were cutct'luiiied at a Christmas party Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Leo Robertson. The rooms were decorated with Christmas suggestions and Christmas Christ-mas gifts were exchanged by the members. Deiicious refreshments were served to the following girls : Grace Rowland, Inez "Wheeler, Helen Hel-en Sailisbury, Helen I'alfreyman Gweu Martin, Clara Brown, l.oreen Reynolds, Mary Roylnnce. Hannah Rowland and the hostess. Mr. J. C. Nielsuu came from St. George Thursday to spend the holidays holi-days with his family. Miss Leona Sumsion and Miss Minerva Jensen o Salt Lake left Friday for California, where they expect to spend Christinas holidays. Miss Maud Smith and Miss Bess Houtz are spending the holidays with their parents in this city. Sanfa Claus visited each of the families of the Springville Fire department de-partment Friday evening and presented pre-sented each child with a little gift. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Sumsion visited in Salt Lake. Tuesday witu thei daughter Leona. Mr. and Mrs. Adam Anderson, Mrs.' Lillian Garrick and son Clyde, all of Salt, Lake, are the holiday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Cran-dall Cran-dall of this city. Miss Cleo Pierce, who is. teaching school at Ogden, is spending the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Pierce. The Fourth ward Sunday school gave a Christmas program in the ward house Wednesday evening Each guest gave one number. Miss Hannah Reynolds gave a reading; Miss Elinore Hall a story; Miss Melba Condie sang a solo, accompanied accom-panied on the piano by Howard Mayeock. After the program Santa Clans visited the children and gave each a bag of candy. Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Blarron and family were guests of Mr. am" Mrs. D. A. Smith Christmas dny. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gammell of Bingham spent Christmas in this city, the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Pier Brinton. Miss Bertbena Childs. accompanied accompan-ied by her brother Lewis, and also Richard Childs. returned to Salt Lake Monday after spending Saturday Satur-day and Sunday at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Childs. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Sumsion of Knysville are spending the holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mont Johnson, and Mr. and Mrs. Willis Sumsion. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Ilnrmer were the Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs. Burton Groesbeck. Mr. and Mrs. Lavell Beardall entertained en-tertained at a nicely arranged Miss Nellie Weight, a teacher in Salt Lake schools, is spending the week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Weight. The Senior class of the S. Jl. S. gave an interesting program Wednesday Wed-nesday at the high school. The following fol-lowing took part : Mr. W. Miller, two violin selections and a banjo selection; Mr. Faux rendered, a selection se-lection on the reed instrument. The Ladies' Glee club sang, and Miss Margaret Handily also gave a reading read-ing ; Elmo Coffman sang a solo. Miss Maud Martin, who is teaching teach-ing school near Delta, is spending this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin. Mr. nud Mrs. G. A. Rowland visited visit-ed in Spanish Fork Thursday evening eve-ning with Mr. Rowland's sister. Mrs. Mabel Thomas. The members of the S. T. club were entertained Thursday evening it the home of Mrs. Melba Pennington. Penning-ton. The entertaining rooms were beautifully decorated with Christmas Christ-mas colors aud suggestions, including includ-ing a large Christmas tree in one corner. Christmas gifts were exchanged ex-changed among the members. At 8 o'clock a delicious luncheon was served on small tnhles, each holding a large Christinas candle. The game nf five hundred furnished the evening's eve-ning's main diversion of entertainment, entertain-ment, Mrs. Lewis Clegg winning high score prize. During a short business meeting held after the party, par-ty, Mrs. Melba Pennington was chosen president for the coming year: Mrs. Ella Crandall, secretary secre-tary and treasurer. Christinas Christ-inas colors and decorations were usbd throughout the eiiitiertnining rooms. Covers were laid for Mr and Mrs. A. O. Childs, Miss Bertbena Bertb-ena and Lewis Childs of Salt Lake, Miss Myrtle Childs, Miss Margaret and Louise Childs, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Brown and family, Jaines and Richard Childs. Mr. and Mrs. Tallie Fredrickson left Mommy to make their home at Fillmore, Utah. One of the most interesting events of the week was the surprise party given Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Fin-ley Fin-ley by members of the family, in honor' of their fiftieth wedding anniversary, an-niversary, which occurred on that date. At high noon the guests were seated at one long table, which held a large golden cream cake tied with a golden ribbon, and with the fifty on lop. The favors were tiny dolls dressed in golden colored colonial dresses. Mrs. Finley wore her wedding wed-ding dress of fifty years ago. The following guests, who have been friends of the honored couple for fifty years, were present: Mr. and Mrs. Pihillip Chase, Mr. and Mrs. Moroni Miner, Mr. and Mrs. Mont Johnson. Mrs. Ruth Bennlon, Mrs. The Third ward Primnry president, presi-dent, Mrs. Mary Smart, and her two counselors, Mrs. Nellie Burt and Mrs. Elsie Miller, entertained at a Christinas party Monday evening eve-ning at Mrs. Smart's home for the ether officers of the wnrd organization. organiza-tion. Christmas presents were exchanged, ex-changed, games were played and refreshments served to Mrs. Phildn Finlev, Mrs. Zora Hill, Mrs. Ivan Childs, Mrs. Millie Southerland. Mrs. Maud Chiistensen, Mrs. Gale. Mrs. Ed. Johnson, Mrs. Earl Diamond, Dia-mond, Mrs. Alta Alleman and the hostesses. Mrs. Philda Finley and Mrs. Ber-nice Ber-nice Hatchings entertained the junior jun-ior girls of the Third ward M. I. A. it the home of the latter Tuesday evening. The members exchanged Christmas gifts and played games. Refreshment's were served to Sarah Hill, Ruth Johnson. Minerva Johnson,' John-son,' Mnririirot Bird, Lnreen and Martha Thorn. Mrs. Eliza Thorn and Abner Thorn. During the afternoon after-noon and evening the sons and daughters and most of the grandchildren grand-children called, giving them greetings greet-ings and good wishes, and they nlso presented them with a lienutiful down quilt. Mrs. Marv Beckstrom of Spanish Fork was the ruest of her daughter. Mrs. J. C. Nielsen Thursday. Mr. A. Y. Wheeler spent Tuesday In Salt Lake City on business. Mrs. I. C. Packard and dmi-Mer.
