Show BOYS APPEAR IN MINSTREL The program at; the Star theatre next Saturday afternoon and evening eve-ning will be augmented in the np penrance of the Springville higl school boys' glee club, in a minstre act, under the direction of Prof. K L. Faux. ' A social matinoo performance 1 will be 'given beginning at 4 o'clock, 1 and the evening act will commence promptly at 9 o'clock, it is stated; 1 Thirty boys will appear, and will he ' featured in chorus singing, solos, ' (Hiartets, and a mixed sextet. 1 Fred Hoffman will play the role ' of interlocutor, and the following will appear as end men: ,T. Ander- 1 son, Courtland Starr, Bill Wheeler. George Young, Herold Holley, Clair 1 Giulmundsen, Gourney Johnson. ' i Mrs. Sarah Palfreyman entertain- I ed at dinner Sunday in compliment to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Masters and family of Bingham. Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Welch and . family spent Mother's day with Mr. Welch's mother, Mrs. Gertrude II. Welch of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Augusta Erdiuan and son Clarence went to Bingham Saturday Satur-day where they will spend several days with Mr. and Mrs. Will Erdiuan Erd-iuan and family. Mrs. Chester Ilutohings was a guest Friday afternoon at a social Mother's diy luncheon, given at the Y Confectionery by members of the L'Metia club. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hoyle and sons Jack and Blaine - came from Salt Lake Saturday to spend Mother's day with M.r. and Mrs. E. V. Brown. Mrs. Hoyle will visit relatives here during the coming week. An elaborate social affair of the j week end was given Friday after-I after-I noon at the home of Mrs. Milan Straw by members of the Alpha Beta club in compliment lo their mothers. An interesting program was given including an address of welcome by the- president, Mrs. S. C. Whittakei1: a Mother's day solo. 'Lenna Thurber ; vocal solo, Elmo ' Coffman ; humorous reading. Dona (Salisbury: readings, Miss Virginia Whit taker. After tho program games were played during wheih Mrs. William Wainwright won a prize as the best singer, and in the gift-came each mother was awarded a little gift. The entertaining rooms ' were a 1 1 ract i vely decora t cd in a color scheme of rose and green sweet peas, snap dragons and ferns being used. Each mother was presented pre-sented with a plant and a delicious luncheon was served by the hostesses hos-tesses : Mrs. Milan Straw, Mrs, John Groeslieck. Mrs. Frank Salisbury Salis-bury and Mrs. Ray Hansen to 10 members and guests. Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Bird and daughter Marion, mot ored f rom T'.ingham Saturday evening to srwnd Mother's dav with Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Bird. ' - |
