Show I SOCIETY Members of the Samuel Buckle family organization held a two day reunion during the past weeh at Johnson's flat in Hobble Creek canyon. The affair was held ir commemoration of the eightieth birthday anniversary of Mr. Buckley. Buck-ley. Outstanding features in the day's amusements consisted oi games, contests, a large bonfire and weiner roasts, in addition to a sumptuous birthday banquet which was-served to a large crowd of close friends and relatives- An especially espe-cially interesting item of the program pro-gram was the foot race between Mrs. Samuel Buckley, aged 17, and Mrs. Celesta Witmore, aged 74. A number of relatives and friends including Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Brown; and son Bert, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hoyle and two sons of Salt Lake, Mrs. J. W. Minnehan and Miss Casie Minnehan of Aurora, Illinois., and Mr. and Mrs- W. H-Brown H-Brown and daughter Wilma of this city formed a party Sunday and motored to Lagoon, where a pleasant time was spent with picnic pic-nic lunch and other enjoyable features fea-tures of the resort. Complimentary to Mrs. Mabel Haubrick, who is leaving soon with her husband to make their home in Grand Junction, Colo., and to Mrs. Eva Gassick, who is returning to her home in Fairfield, Iowa, the ladies of the Springville Community Commu-nity church entertained at a nicely arranged farewell social and ken-sington ken-sington on the city park Friday afternoon. Mrs. A. W. Cherrington entertained enter-tained at an informal dinner party at her home Monday evening for Mrs. Birdella Bearnson of Chicago, Mrs. Walter Wheeler and Mrs. J. O. Reynolds. A light lunch was served to the Misses Melba Sumsion and Mary Roylance, who were guests of Mrs. Mary S. Boyer at her home Thurs-ay Thurs-ay afternoon. Two beautiful vases were presented to the late bride by the guests. Principal and Mrs. E. E. Knud-sen Knud-sen and two son3 were guests at an informal dinner given by Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Knudsen at their home in Provo Sunday complimentary com-plimentary to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Knudsen of Amhurst, Mass. Mr. Knudsen is professor of agriculture at the state college there and expects ex-pects to return in the near future. Members of the family of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Mendenhall and a few friends enjoyed an outing at Geneva this week in celebration of the visit their son Deal and wife are making here from Alberta, Canada. Can-ada. A nicely arranged dinner party was given Sunday , by Mr. and Mrs. Arthur C. Boyer at their home in compliment to Miss Ivy Larson, who was visiting them from Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Harmer entertained en-tertained Sunday at their home for Miss Annie Derkson of Ogden and Mr. and Mrs. Ace Johnson of Spanish Span-ish Fork. Bishop and Mrs. Hilton Robertson, Robert-son, in company with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Harmon, also of Taylor Brothers' company, Provo. enjoyed the half holiday Wednesday at ous picnic lunch, which was served to about 24 ladies, the time was pleasantly spent with social chat and sewing-Mr. sewing-Mr. and Mrs. Frank Salisbury entertained en-tertained at dinner Sunday in compliment com-pliment to their ncice, Miss Margaret Mar-garet Boyer of Sacramento, Calif., who has been visiting relatives in Vernal, Utah and in Salt Lake. Other guests included Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Boyer and family of Salt Lake City, Mrs. William Burton of Oregon, Mrs. Colista Boyer of this city and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boyer. The members of the Ladies Literary Lit-erary club, with their husbands and children, enjoyed an outing at Geneva Gen-eva Saturday evening. Following a delicious picnic lunch which was served at long tables at 7 o'clock, the party enjoyed bathing and other amusing features of the resort. re-sort.
