Ciandall, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Thorstensen and son Charles and Roy Thorsten-en Thorsten-en of Ogden was taken during the week-end, when the party motored to Strawberry to fish. Complimentary to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Engman and James Graham of Los Angeles, and Mr. and Mrs. Eli Mitchell and sons of Midvale, Mr .and Mrs. Charles Daley formed a party and enjoyed picnic lunch and bathing at Geneva resort Friday. Fri-day. The following day members of the same party enjoyed a day of picnicing at Vivian park. Provana beach. The Gleaner class of the Second ward M. I. A. have planned a party to go to Geneva next Thursday evening. A program of games and a picnic lunch is planned for the occasion. All members are invited to attend. A pleasant evening was spent Thursday when members of the girls' 4-H club of this city met at the home of Miss Hazel Anderson One of the outstanding social events of the week was the party given Thursday evening by Mrs. Blanch G. Hales at her home, when she entertained the members of the Second ward Gleaner class and a few invited friends with a musical. Entertaining rooms were prettily decorated with the season's flowers. During the evening the following excellent numbers were rendered: Mi'sical readings, Miss Irine Averett; Aver-ett; piano solo, Miss Mary Williams; Wil-liams; readings. Miss Delph'ia Dallin; Dal-lin; accordian selection, Mrs. Millie C. Scof field; scenes from the "Desert "Des-ert Song," Delphia Dallin and Robert Lee in costume; they responded re-sponded to an encore, singing "One Alone,"; Miss Gladys Williams rendered ren-dered a sc-.o.. The hostess was assisted in serving the tasty luncheon lunch-eon by Miss Mabel Smith. Members Mem-bers of the class present included Mrs. George Anderson, Miss Vern-issa Vern-issa Hutchmgs, Miss Marie Ridtrup, Miss Florence Childs. Miss Portia Davis, Misses Lola and Elda Smith, Miss Inez Jesse, Miss Mary Boyer, Miss Ada Smith, Miss Mattie Davis,' Miss Mabel Smith, Mrs. Arthur Boyer, Miss Jessie Alleman, Miss Helen Clark, Misses Olive and Lucy Childs, and guests, Misses Gladys and Mary Williams of Spanish Span-ish Fork, Miss Boss Garland, Mrs. Dean Bench, Mrs. Fred Lee, Miss Wanda Stewart, Miss Gena Smith, Miss lone Averett, Miss Delphia Dallin, Robert Lee, and Mrs. Millie Schoffield, Spanish Fork. Mrs- E. W. Simpkins has returned . Prominent among the parties of the past week was one given Thursday Thurs-day evening, when Mrs. Arthur Finley entertained the members of the Social Twelve Card club and a number of frends at her homo. During the evening four tables of progressive auction bridge were played and prizes for the game were awarded as follows: Mrs. Ora Rowland, first prize; Mrs- Andrew Peterson, guest prize, and Mrs. Hazel Harrison and Mrs. Lois Clegg consolation prizes. Entertaining rooms were pretty, being decorated with a variety of summer flowers. Following the games a delicious luncheon was served by the hostess to the following guests Mrs. Ray Roberson, Mrs. Manferd Hutchin-i son, Mrs. Andrew Peterson, Mrs. Leon Harrison, Mrs. Jack Perham, Miss Cleo Pierce and members, Mrs. G. D. Kennedy, Mrs. George Crandall, Mrs. Amasia Rowland, Mrs. Floyd Harmer, Mrs. Norris Bings, Mrs. Harry Pennington, Mrs. Hugh Baxter, Mrs- W. H. Brown, Mrs. Lewis Clegg and Mrs- Lee Sumsion. Miss Hilda Clegg of this city was guest during several days of the past week at the home of her sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Grace Stubbs in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Sol Clyde and children chil-dren were guests Sunday at an attractive at-tractive dinner party given by Mrs. Mark Roberts at her home in Provo complimentary to her husband, whose birthday anniversary occurred oc-curred that day. Members of the S- T- club will hold their next meeting August 15 at the home of Mrs. Lewis Clegg. Cards will be the feature of entertainment enter-tainment and all members are asked to be present. The Misses Ethel Taylor, Mabel Averett and Merle Elackett spent several days of the past week in Salt Lake. They were the house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Peay. |
