FOLK, Vii., May 4 (tT) A board of inquiry today was investigating the cause of an airplane crash yesterday which brought the dealh toll of navy flyers near the Hampton Bonds navy air base to ten in the last two weeks. Lieutenant Commander Harry P. Page of Washington, D. C, and Lieutenant Kussell V. Pollard Pol-lard of Hampton Roads were the latest victims of the navy flying "jinx"' hovering in this locality. Their navy seaplane which Pollard was piloting, got out of control, 1.000 feet in the air, spiraled downward for 500 feet, went into a side slip and crashed near the Norfolk municipal pier, hardly 100 feet from a safe water landing. The ship burst into flames, charring the occupants occu-pants beyond recognition before they could be extricated. ' J ' |
