Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gottfreson of Mana sieut the week-end with Mrs. Gottfreson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Packard. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bird of Bingham Bing-ham spent Sunday visiting in Springville. The First ward Itelief Society held a social and quilting party. ;at the church Tuesday afternoon, Light refreshments were served by members mem-bers of the organization. Mr. and Mrs. Will Noakes and daughter Thelma of this city, motored motor-ed to Suit Lake Sunday with a number of relntives from Spanish Fork to celebrate the 77th birthduy anniversary of Mrs. Noakes mother, Mrs. Iiacheal Boyae. The celebration celebra-tion was held in the form of a family reunion at Liberty park. Mr. and Mrs. Philip Boyer and family of Salt Lake City were the guests of Mr. Boyer's mother, Mrs. Celestia Boyer Sunday. Miss lone Palfieyman. entertained the second intermediate Sunduy school class at a gay lawn party Monday evening. All of the members mem-bers came dressed in old-fashioned attire. Games and a program were enjoyed during the evening. Refreshments Re-freshments were served to twelve members. Mrs. II. J. Hatch has returned to Logan after visiting with her mother moth-er Mrs. Nephi Straw. Miss Rose Crabtree of Salt Lake City and Miss Ada Harrison of Springville are enjoying a motor trip through southern Utah, and to other points of interest. They have visited Bryce, and Zion's canyon and are now in Los Angeles. Be- Games were played and refreshments refresh-ments were served to ten members. G. W. Phillips, Edward Johnson and Earl Phillips returned home Tuesday eveuing after spending a week fishing at Strawberry. Miss Geneve Sorenson of Spanish Fork is visiting with her sister. Miss Josephine Menary of this city is spending a two weeks vacation vaca-tion visiting relatives in San Francisco Fran-cisco and Santa Rosa, Cal. Miss Minnie Hales of Spanish Fork is spending the week with her mother, Mrs. W. G. Grooms. . A prettily appointed dinner party was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peirsol Brinton Monday evening. eve-ning. The guests included Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gammel of Bingham, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Criss of Avery, Idaho, Mrs. E. P. Hnpgood of Anaheim, Ana-heim, Cal., Mrs. Lottie Crandall, and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Holly of this city. Mr. Charles Boyer and W. A. Boyer left Monday for Omaha, Neb. where they will work the remainder of this summer. Gene Sanford, a former resident of Springville Is spending this week with Mr. Charles Sanford. Mrs. Robert Rogers has returned to her home in Garland after spending spend-ing a week with Mrs. W. J. Miss Marian Groesbeck who has been visiting with relatives in Garland Gar-land for a month has returned to her home in Springville. Mrs. L. L. Baker of this city is spending a week with her mother in Garland. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Miller left Thursday morning for. Denver, Colo., where Mr. Miller will receive medical treatment. Mrs. Miller was formerly Miss Susan Sumsion of Springville. One - of the charming events of the week was the banquet and swimming party enjoyed by a number num-ber of Springville people at Saltalr Wednesday afternoon nnd evening. After enjoying a swim and a number num-ber of other amusements the guests, which numbered about 45, were seated at one long table and appointments ap-pointments were arranged for Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Reynolds Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Ted Jones, Mr. and Mra. Grant Crandall, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Oakes, Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Mendenhall Jr., Dr. nnd Mrs. N. Neil, Mr. and Mrs. 0. Holt, Mr. and Mrs. Dasil Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Kay Hansen, Dr. and Mrs. Wallace Mace, Mr. and Mrs. N. Gledhill, Mr. and Mrs. John Mendenhall, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Wbittaker, Mrs. M. W. Bird, Albert Huish, the Misses Virginia Whittaker, Eliza Packard, Lavivie Huish, Mary Bird, Margaret Bird, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Johnson, Mrs. Charles Boyer, Bert Gledhill, Irie Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Knudsen. Dancing provided the evenings entertainment, after which the party motored to their homes in Springville. A delightful swimming party was enjoyed by the Beehive girls of Mapleton Tuesday evening, when Miss Haroldine Martin and Lucy Roylnnce of this city entertained at Glengarry. After the swim, games were played and refreshments refresh-ments were served to ten members at Miss Roylance's home. ' Miss Valetta Smith of Salt Lake is spending her vacation with her grandmother, Mrs. P. E. Singleton. Mrs. Helen D. Bedford of Berkley, Berk-ley, Cal., is the guest of Mrs. M. O. Packard this week. Miss Maud and Haroldine Martin, Miss Mary and Lucy Eoylance returned re-turned home Tuesday after spending spend-ing a week at Kelley's grove in Hobble Creek canyon. Miss Margaret Bird was pleasantly pleasant-ly surprised Tuesday evening by a number of girl friends. Games were played during the evening.
