Show Work For College Boys This is the vacation season for boys and girls who attend at-tend school and young men and young women who attend colleges and universities. To some the vacation means one thing, and to others it means something entirely different. The young man or young woman who is working his or her way through college look forwards to the vacation season as an opportunity to make more money with which to get farther towards the coveted degree. These who do not have any particular desire to work and whose parents are so situated situ-ated that their children do not have to work to earn money ' often look forward to the vacation season as an opportunity to loaf and enjoy the outdoor pleasures which summer affords. af-fords. However, there is a growing tendency among Utah County parents to put their sons to work during the vacation vaca-tion season, whether the money they earn is actually needed or not. This is sure to have good results, for no matter in what financial condition a young man or his parents may be, there is nothing so beneficial as hard work for at least three months of the year. It is good for the development of the body. It encourages, or at least should encourage the young man in constructive thinking, for practically all work is educational, and what is much more important it keeps the youth busy and occupied at a time when idleness is the thing most to be avoided: In local factories and on Utah county farms today can be found young men who do not need to earn money, but who have been encouraged to get jobs by their parents. These parents have exercised good judgment and their sons in after years will praise them. |
