Teacher gains new post in Nebo District Harold L. Bartlett of the Springville High School faculty facul-ty has been named Research Assistant and Secondary Supervisor Sup-ervisor for Nebo School District, Dis-trict, assuming his new position po-sition mmediately. Mr. Bartlett has taught in the Nebo School District for twelve years and brings to his new position a firsthand knowledge of the school program pro-gram in Nebo, filling a vacancy vacan-cy of long standing, according to Supt. Russell N. Stansfield. When queried as to the re-sponsibilites re-sponsibilites of the appointment, appoint-ment, Mr. Bartlett stated, "I believe that sound, fundamental funda-mental values are most important. im-portant. When a person possesses pos-sesses these basic human values, val-ues, he is in a position to defend them against all opposition oppo-sition in spite of friendship, sympathy or desire for personal per-sonal gain. An administrator must make decisions. The strength and courage to make these decisions must come from a sound set of basic Christian values." He further stated, "All of his administration should be done with the singleness of purpose of providing as many experiences as possible that will enable the student to understand un-derstand himself, appreciaate his heritage and become individually in-dividually creative. This is the administrator's obligation to his students." Mr. Bartlett came to Nebo as a teacher at Springville Jr. and Senior High Schools in 1951. He graduated from high school in Vernon, Michigan in 1933 and holds B. S. and M. S. degrees in sociology from the Utah State University. He has held numerous church, business, social and school positions having been a member of the Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, City Council at Newton, Utah, member of the Springville City Library Board member of various councils of Boy Scouts of America, etc. A convert to the LDS. Church in 1937, Mr. Bartlett served on an LDS Mission in the Northwestern ' States Mission. Since that time he has been a teacher in the Sunday Sun-day School. YMMIA, and the Priesthood organizations, Supt. of a ward YMMIA and Sunday Sun-day School and Assistant Stake Sunday School Supt. as well as President of a Seventies Seven-ties Quorum. At the present time he is Bishop of the Eleventh Elev-enth Ward. He is married to the former Annie Larsen of Newton. They have six sons and daughters. 4-H Clubs in the United States boast 2,285,592 members mem-bers ranging in age from 10 to 21 years. Of the total enrolled, en-rolled, 979,562 are boys; 1, 306,030 are girls. |
