Show Springville man injures eye in farm mishap Hugh J. X. Gardner, well-known well-known Springville man, is recovering re-covering from eye injuries suffered suf-fered recently, when a chain broke while he was attempting attempt-ing to remove a stump on his farmland near Springville. Mr.' Gardner was working with Lynn Bjarnson in removing remov-ing the stump, and Mr. Bjarnson Bjarn-son was pulling the chain with a tractor when the chain broke. The broken end struck Mr. Gardner in the face, breaking his glasses and driving pieces of the broken glass into his eye. He has been assured by doctors doc-tors that his sight would not 1 be impaired by the injury. Mrs. Betta Harmer enjoyed a visit from her daughter, Mrs. Georgia Weenig of Pocatello, Idaho, the past weekend. She pame to Utah in company with her son, Paul, who enrolled as a junior at BYU. He recently came from a mission in the Netherlands. Another son, Lloyd, enrolled earlier in the week at the "Y". Also visiting his mother was Vernon Har-mer Har-mer and wife, from Twin Falls, Idaho, who came down to enroll en-roll their son, Chester, at BYU. He recently returned from an Eastern States mission. |
