Mr. and Mrs. Averett were married May 11, 1912 and the marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. He was born in Springville, July 14, 1892, a son of Hardy and Elizabeth B. Averett. He has lived in Springville always with exception of two years in Bingham, when he worked for the Utah Copper. He has followed fol-lowed the occupations of farming farm-ing and cattle raising for a number of years. He is a former for-mer member of the Springville Volunteer Fire Dept. and an ardent spoartsman. Mrs. Bessie Strong Averett is also a native of Springville, born to Willis E. and Lucy Clyde Strong, June 11, 1894. She has taken active part in church work serving as a Primary Pri-mary teacher 15 years and has also been a Relief Society visiting vis-iting teacher most of her married mar-ried life. She is a member of the Daughters of Utah Pion- Mr. and Mrs. Tom Averett, who will be guest of honor at an Open House Sunday afternoon at their home, marking their (Golden Wedding. eers and is presently serving as chaplain of Camp Mountain View. She has also served as an officer in the Springville Cowbelle organization, four years. Mr. and Mrs. Averett have two daughters and three sons: Mrs. George (Leona) Wilson and Clyde Averett, Springville; Mrs. Ned (Beth) Larsen and Lamar Averett both of Maple-ton; Maple-ton; Harold Averett, Calif. There are 21 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. |
