Show Current book given at club Mrs. G. Lowry Anderson in delightful manner reviewed Dr Thomas W. Dooley's book; "The Night the Mountain Burned," at the meeting oi the Ladies Literary club on Thursday evening. Mrs. W. L. Schreiner was hostess. The book recounts Dr. Dooley's Doo-ley's activities in setting up hospitals in the remote areas in Laos and tells how he and his assistants trained the natives na-tives in various health measures. meas-ures. President Packard read an article in the Clubwoman by Mrs. Harold Christensen on conservation of natural resources resour-ces and paid tribute to Mrs. Christensen as a member of the club. Mrs. Christensen has been recently appointed president presi-dent of the Fine Arts Board of the State Federation, it was stated. Appointment of Mrs. W. H. Brown as club representative on the Fine Arts festival to be held here March 7, was announced. an-nounced. The club program was preceded pre-ceded by a nicely arranged tray luncheon served by the hostess. Next meting was announced an-nounced for February 1, at the home of Mrs. J. Y. Bearnson. |
