Crandall, seconded by Dr. William H. Sorensen, authorizing the Clerk to call for bids on the sale of the Benjamin and Lake Shore cottages after an appraisal has been made. If all the lands entered under un-der the Homestead Act were laid side by side, they would cover a strip 125 miles wide from Boston to San Francisco. After bookbinding bids were opened and tabulated, motion was by Dr. Sorensen, seconded second-ed by Alfonzo Kester, that the Board accept the low bid of Jimmey Nielsen for the rebind-ing rebind-ing and mending of books at the rate of 30c per book. At 8:00 p.m., President Stone opened the bids submitted on the sale of tax anticipation bonds to meet current obligations obliga-tions during the 1962-63 school year. A motion was made by Alfonzo Kester, seconded by S. Roland Lindsay, that the Board accept the low bid of Springville Spring-ville Banking Company for the purchase of $1,100,000. tax anticipation bonds for the 1962-63 1962-63 school year and to authorize author-ize the " Clerk to' invest ' funds not presently needed, in government gov-ernment securities. Supt. Stansfield discussed the district Summer Education Program which 'includes the teaching of reading and arith-matic. arith-matic. He stated that the registration reg-istration to date is comparable to last year's program.
