Springville miss weds man from Vancouver, Washington ri for the' present, but plan to re-turn to Provo. A shower was given to the bride-ele- ct prior to her mar-riage and before, going to Washington. Nan Harward and Karen Jacobsen hosted the event to which a number of girlfriends of the bride-ele- ct attended. Gifts were opened, and visiting and lunch occupied the evening's event. Linda Peterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Peterson, became the bride of Ken Pierce son of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Pierce of Portland, Ore., Feb. 3. The marriage ceremony was performed by Bishop Orson P. Arnold in the LDS church at Vancouver, Washington. A reception was held at the home of the bridegroom follow-ing the marriage. The bride chose a street length gown of white lace with long sleeves, with an over skirt of matching scolloped lace. A short veil was fasten-ed to her crown of pearls. Ma-tron of honor was the groom's sister, Delores Parker with Gary Markstaller acting as the best man. Miss Linda Peterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Peterson, became, .the bride of Ken Pierce in wedding rites at Vancouver, Washington. The newlyweds honeymooned at Mt. Hood and Mt. Bache-lor, Bend, Ore,' where they participated in the skiing there. A graduate of the Spring-ville Seminary and high school here, the bride was a cheer-leader, member of the Booster activity club , and the Steno club. The groom graduated from Washington high school where he was captain of the football team and was an all-sta- te player. He was president of the letterman's club. He attended the BYU and is now serving in the services at Ft. Lewis, Washington. The newlyweds will make their home in Olympia, Wash., Retold story club subject Helen Anderson was host-ess to members of the Ladies Literary club Thursday even-ing at Barts and the program was furnished by Mrs. Wm. L. Schreiner. Luncheon was served early to nineteen club members and was followed by short business conducted by the president, Mrs. F. C. Packard. Mrs. Claud A. Smith read the club collect and Mrs. E. T. Crandall re-ported on the Legislative Coun-cil. Mrs. Schreiner gave a most interesting and entertaining program on the retold story dealing with various types of story telling and authors and concluded with several well-prepar-short re-to- ld stories. Stake MIA group plans fashion show To the theme "Sweet and Lovely," Springville Stake Laurels will present A Night: of Fashion," Tuesday, March 13, at 8 o'clock in the Spring-ville stake house. The event promises to be a high-lig- ht of the MIA year for the Laurel classes. The girls will be the models, many of them modeling clothes they have made themselves. The fashion show is under the direction of Springville stake Laurel leader, Pearl Smith assisted by the leaders from each Svard. Mother and friends of the girls along with ward presi-dencies and stake . leaders are invited as guests.
