Show oCetterd to tlie Editor Letters pour in against fluoridation The fight against fluoridation fluorida-tion must go on. Our propon- ents are determined to take steps to use fluoridation against our wishes. False propaganda is being spread to influence people into believing that fluoridation fluo-ridation in our water supply will help tooth decay. This article was written by Dr. Howard H. Hillmann, published pub-lished July 1961. Drs. F. B. Exner and G. L. Waldbott in their book, "The American Fluoridation Experiment," Experi-ment," have documented the arguments against fluoridation. They also unleach a devasting indictment against certain officials of-ficials of the Public Health Service, who should know bet- t If it corrodes everything it touches, what will happen to our bodies.? If any one wishes they can get fluoride from their physician physi-cian or dentist or go to the drug store and buy tablets, get it in sea salt, tooth paste, etc. Our proponents seem to think these methods are expensive. We will still go on using tooth paste just the same. We will brush our teeth to rid our teeth of food particles. If he or she wishes they get tooth paste with fluoride already in it. In visiting several different stores I noticed that fluoride tooth paste, ounce for ounce, is the same price as any other tooth paste. Therefore, he or she, could get their fluoride without additional cost, since tooth paste will be used after fluoridation. Placing a medication in public pub-lic water supply so people must take medicine, willingly or unwillingly, un-willingly, eliminates the freedom free-dom of choice, even if fluoridation fluorida-tion should be found worthwhile, worth-while, as its sponsors claim, no one in the United States of America should be forced to accept ac-cept it against his will. A surgeon will not operate, even in extreme emergency without the permission from the patient, or responsible relatives, and these are as they should be. Placing a substance in public pub-lic water supply would be forcing forc-ing residents to consume it or ter, and who, in their efforts to "put over" fluoridation, have deliberately falsified, distorted, and surpressed evidence, thru their "official opinions and actions." ac-tions." "Fluoridation as a false measure mea-sure is to be defeated on scientific scien-tific grounds, and on these alone. Fluoridation is utterly unscientific. Fluoridation is not safe, effective practical method to prevent tooth decay. Fluoridation Fluori-dation has never been proven to be effective and all facts attest at-test to the contrary, namely, that flouridation as a measure is worthless and damaging." "Opposed to fluoridation are the overwhelming majority of scientists, institutions, personalities, personal-ities, manufacturing companies, physicians, statesmen, dentists. It is interesting to note that physicians and dentists 'and officials of-ficials involved, will not endorse fluoridation when required to sign statements assuming responsibility re-sponsibility for any harm that may occur. This is a true reflection re-flection on their depth of knowledge, know-ledge, comprehension and certainty." cer-tainty." In the Fundamentals of General Gen-eral Chemistry, by C. H. Sor-um, Sor-um, "Fluoride cannot be manufactured manu-factured in laboratories because be-cause of corrosiveness," then why should we trust it in the function of our water supply? give up their homes and move elsewhere. Springville is a choice place to live or stay. Many people stop at the drinking fountains to drink pure, safe water. It is a treat to them to taste such good pure water. Neighboring townspeople and tourists alike, all enjoy the taste of this water. wa-ter. Why add anything to spoil its reputation of being the best water people ever tasted.
