Show Proud kinfolk read about dancing hit Little Kathy Gore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. (Sonny) (Son-ny) Gore is the youngest of a cast of 34 perciality performers perform-ers from Hawaii, seen in Guy Lombardo's prod uction of, "Paradise Island," at Jones Beach Marine Theater, New York. The young performer is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Gore of Springville and her two little brothers, Michael Mich-ael and Jim are staying in Springville with the Gores while the mother is with her young actress daughter in New York. Sonny, the father, is in Alaska on maneuvers with the navy. According to newspaper reviews, re-views, the little Gore girl is making a real hit on the New York stage. The Long Island Daily Press had this to say: "Notable among the Hula dancers are several of tender age, including 7-year-old Kathy Gore, a dimpled doll, who has the aplomb of Gwen Verdon and the enviable body control of Gilda Gray." Several pictures of the production pro-duction including one of Kathy, called the 'Hula Honey,' appeared ap-peared in the New York Journal Jour-nal American which stated in its write-up of the musical: "The Hawaiian children are the cutest I've seen on any stage. Kathy Gore, for example exam-ple (she's 7 years old) almost stole, the show from the stars." |
